Joint pain when doing curls was created by Robbie
Hi Guys,

I'm struggling with pain in my left elbow when doing bicep curls, even with lighter weights. Does anyone have experience with this and maybe a remedy. This morning it even niggles when I stetch out and lift my coffe cup. If I rotate my forearm I can feel exactly where the issue is. I would hate to have to rest it now.

That is a bitch of a pain, you will have to rest your arm and take it easy for atleast a week.
Hammer curls hurt?

Find a way to work your bicep without pain and stick to that till it recovers. Otherwise no choice but to rest it, if you hurt it seriously now you will have to rest it longer.

Hi Oupa, yes they hurt too but signifcantly less. Worked more on hammers last night, but still kakking. The next workout I'll drop the weight and up the reps and see whats what. I usually go to 45kg barbel curls where I can manage 8 reps then drop to 20kg and punch out another 15 reps. I have to find a happy medium till it clears up. Is there a good joint support or rub I can use maybe?

Unfortunately when you get elbow joint issues it can be a tendonitis. The only way to get rid of it is with rest. Remember when ever you do upper body movements you are putting strain through the elbow, bar a few movements like flys and side raises.

How ever if it is just a bicep issue you could sort it out with some dry needling from a chiro.

But the best thing for this is rest, and icing the area, and if budget allows for it mk or gh.

Possibly use a heat pad aswell as icing it, but do them at different times of the day. Heat pad before bed. Ice in the morning. The main goal here is to reduce inflammation. 9000mg of omega 3's and curcumin as well will help reduce the nflammation.

i had the same issue earlier this year, went for some physio and dry needling (hurt like a bitch) but it helped. but other than that rest it and maybe roll it with a tennis ball. my issues were from the bicep tendon in the elbow
