Best Time to do Cardio? was created by Dean
Hey Guys

i heard doing cardio in the morning and drinking a glass of orange juice before is ok.
Is this the best time to do cardio?
I normally do it after my work out 10min sessions?
But now im going on a cutting cycle.
Thanks

The time you do cardio is fine, in the morning, this helps with your RMR and increases fat burning through the day.

Your pre-workout nutrition needs work, a glass of OJ is not good enough ....

It is not what car you drive, but the size of the arm hanging out the window.

Netro is spot on. The 2 best times for cardio are first thing in the morning on an empty stomach or straight after your weights workout as you have already burned up your glycogen stores leaving fat stores to be burned up for energy. If you have to eat something before morning cardio, have Whey and Glutamine and BCAA's \EAA's... NO CARBS!!! ;)

You can do whatever gets your HR going. I prefer walking on the treadmill and using the Elliptical Trainer\Cross Trainer. I don't enjoy the stepper or stationary bike. I wont do something I don't enjoy :P morning sessions are usually around 40 mins long and post workout sessions are around 20-30 mins. Precontest is usually a little longer but never more than an hour, rather add more sessions.

Here we touch on a subject that i find a bit confusing.
I train in the afternoon and then cardio after. What do i put in my post-workout(weights) shake? Just protein? and leave the glucose for after cardio?

Hey Jackrabbit - I really think it depends on the duration of the cardio after your weights. If its say 20mins, I wouldn't bother and rather wait till after the cardio for my PW shake. If its gonna be a 40+ min session, I would take a small serving of Whey+Glut+BCAA, just to protect that hard earned muscle and then take a full blown PW Shake after cardio.
