howzit guys,

I would just like to have an opinion on this.

I recently changed my training prog to include a few work-outs to build some proper fore-arms!
But ever since, I have had a hard time doing holding the weights because of the tired fore-arms...
I dropped the 38kg on my chest the other day whilst doing incline Dumbbell-Press - and that was only in my second set... after that I didn't even attempt the 44kg as I usually could?

When I train triceps, and do jaw-breakers it feels as if the bone in my arms hurt like hell, same goes for the pull-overs during Lats.

Is this something I should just "ride out" until my fore-arms are strong enough?

I've even moved the fore-arm training to my last day of a week, but the fore-arms remain sore for long periods of time.

Any suggestions?

thanx.
Regards.

Only superbol... wanted to give it a try and are very happy with the results.
Cycle ends this week.

But Ja, Was thinking of dropping the fore-arm training..
Who needs fore-arms if you've got big biceps ey? ;)
Still... I just want to be in proportion...!

Too heavy, too quickly. Rest and come back with lighter weight.
Do a range of exercises. Twist your wrists in different angles to see how your forearm mucles work.
Sooner or later you wont be able to hold enough weight fo your other bodyparts.
Best you start training forearms as soon as they heal a bit.
Huge upper arms look silly with small forearms. Like huge quads with no calves or Huge upper body with no legs.
Same thing.

I know, thats why I want to train my fore-arms...
not just to get size on them, but also to get them stronger...

Think I'll just stop training the fore-arms for a few weeks, until they are better..

thanx.

Any good fore-arm exercises that'll put on some mass fast?
I love wrist curls...

Hi Silver, had the same problem. Jackrabbit's advice is good.
This may sound like a silly exercise and I dont know about the mass gain. It will however most definately make ur grip stronger without messing it up.
Take a broom handle with a piece of rope that strecthes from ur shoulder to the ground, tie rope end to 5kg? weight and other side to the broomstick. Now simply stand with ur arms straight out in front of you and 'roll' up the weight till it reaches the broomstick in ur hands, now roll it back down again. Do this for about 3-5 times for 4 sets. Bit of shoulder exercise as well. I did it in the mornings till my grip got strong enough to handle the weight the rest of me could.
If you knew it, sorry for giving u a read but I promise u it helped me a load.

ForeArms are more stuborn than calves and i believe the training should be similar to calves.

Two major movements. Curl with palm facing up and curl with palm facing dow.

Hammer curls
Reverse ez-bar curls
wrist curls
Reverse wrist curls.
Google for some more. I just make sure i hit them from different angles.

Use cables; and like calves, make sure you go through the full range of motion.

The pain-threshold should be broken. Try Drop sets for 3 or 4 drops of 6-10 reps each.

I do them after Bi's. They feel like they're gonna burst when i'm done.

LSJ,
Thats one of the exercises I actually do (and love) - but thanx for the input bro... appreciated.

@JackR1
I also do reverse EZ bar curls and hammer curls.

But I do believe that I went too heavy, too quickly.
I suppose I'll just have to push through and my spotter should be a Johnty Rhodes when I loose grip of the weight again...LOL...

But thanx for the input gents...

Hi, I had exactly the same problem. Terrible pain in my forearms, against the bone. At the time I were actually doing no specific forearm training. My pain were caused by doing too heavy straight barbell curls. I started doing light work for my forarms, thinking that I should strengten them. Well, it worked. I have not done any straight barbell curls again, doing it with an ez-bar. I think we should ask Lee Priest for advice on forarm training.

Steun en kreun, en poep selfs as jy moet, maar moenie toelaat dat die yster jou onderkry.

same prob here! i cant even increase the weight on my dumbbell curls because i feel toomuch strain on my wrist and cant follow through with proper movement!

But i've been working on forearms for just a month now, I'd say jackrabbit's advice is spot on! just got to have patience and start with light weights increasing slowly!

I find I can go heavy on hammer curls, eazy bar movements but with open wrist I have to drop the weight.
My wrists give in before my biceps. As for forearms... I have never trained them ever.
I just rely on my arm workout to grow them... as for calves... well I was cursed with crappy genetics there and trying to over come them day by day.
