I cant find much info on the net where its used as a bodybuilding supplement, but I see its sold in almost every supplement store, what is it and how is it used?

Dhea is ingested and reports say that it then converted into test .. The stuff sold in the shops is 7 alki dhea which a watered down version .. I have used it and it is safe but doesn't do anything in terms of performance enhancing ... The proper dhea is supposedly quiet good but I couldn't source it .. Apparently it can be run without cycling and it converted to test then not a bad option but yet to come across someone who used the real stuff ..

I have a prescription for dhea as it has been shown to assist in lupas and the cell mutation that come along with it. as far as i know the over the counter shit is typical marketing crap, solal labs synthesizes dhea but it is schedule 3 i think, ill check on the bottle when i get home tonight. This prescribed off course by a M.D

I must say, it does yield some benefits. I stopped intake a month ago due to being on cycle atm but prior to that was taking 50mg (2tabs) at night before bed. General better sense of well being, better sleep and recovery post workout was accelerated compared to without.

It is quite costly, discovery health does subsidize the cost somewhat but in all honesty if you're interest in it is for its performance enhancing attributes than by all means take a pass on this and save for a test cycle. It is after all a pro hormone but not at all aggressive and noticeable effects take ages to appear, you could literally call better sleep and a tighter diet as giving more pronounced effects than dhea on its own.

If your reason for wanting to supplement with DHEA is to boost Test levels then don't bother. Maybe to add to a pct after a very suppressive cycle but that's about it.

If you look at where it fits in the natural biosynthesis pathway of testosterone in your body DHEA (from adrenals) is a precursor to mostly androstenedione and then to androstenediol that were all the rage in BB supplements until they were banned about 6/7 years ago. Only around 5% of androstenedione converts to testosterone and the crap thing about androstenedione is it also converts directly to ESTRADIOL. Basically, DHEA hs been shown to have a negligable effect on T levels.

Save your cash for something else.

Not a prohormone bud. A prohormone converts directly to testosterone or a steroid. DHEA is a precursor to a prohormone.
