T3 just eats through muscle, it can't defrenciate between muscle and fat. Anavar or low dose of test is probably the only thing that will stop this or maybe a low dosage of clen? This is a hard one if he is not using and not quite sure if eating higher doses of protein evry 2-3 hours is going to be sparing enough? Hope someone else can enlighten you

If your mate is on thyroid therapy he will not be on a dose of 100mcg per day rather more like 20mcg per day as that is what your body will produce naturally. 100mcg Is what we arrogant AAS users use to aide our unrealistic fat loss goals. At a dose of 20mcg you won't need the use of AAS to negate the diminishing effect on your muscle bro.

is it not T4 perhaps? That's usually the culprit with thyroid issues. If you are not sure ask if he is on tertroxin or eltroxin

Hey byron :)

Maybe your mate should rather use t3 @ 20mcg daily - that's your natural dose so it shouldn't eat his muscle.

Other than that a good diet, supplementation and training will help his muscle mass...

I take it you have him on a diet made from dieting 101 and 102, if not go read those and help him out he should gain some in no time!

Lets go!

just a quick one.. I know a lot of experienced guys, including some in this forum, who will tip toe very carefully around giving advice, if any, with regards to thyroid treatment.. Maybe stick to helping with diet and training ideas to maintain his mates muscle ;) Not attacking you gorilla please don't leave the forum. That's a joke, too soon?

iMan has some experience with it I think so maybe wait for him to reply again..

Byron sorry if I missed it somewhere but this diet, is it for muscle gain? Fat loss? I'm assuming fat loss if you are scared he will lose muscle?

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

He will not lose muscle mass when running T4 if he has Hypothydorism (slow metabolism) and the dose is correct (100mcg a day is average). Regarding it ever be normal, chance is next to nothing. He will probably be on eltroxine for the rest of his life. So you can continue working out diets for him no problem there.

I think the words from Chapel are very wise and giving advice regarding thyroid treatments are best left to the trained professionals.

What would be a possible reason for impaired thyroid hormone production ? I know through supplementation abuse one can severely damage ones natural production but did your buddy have some natural disease or syndrome that caused he's thyroid to eff out ?

Hope this is not too far off topic :)
