Galaxy tab verses ipad 2??

The most annoying thing about the iPad is Apple’s Nazi like obsession with controlling everything about their products which really restricts it's functionality and configurability unless you jailbreak, which is not exactly a solution. You have to use iTunes to copy anything and it is impossible to bluetooth files or access files without Apple's Fortnox security/copyright restrictions.

If you are a person who just wants a touch screen web browser with email and music/video then by all means get an iPad. If you value customisability and flexibity, and the ability to control every aspect of the potential of your device then the Samsung and Android is the way to go. It would suit me better to use my iPad more as I have an iMac and just got the new retina Macbook Pro but I just feel so retricted with the iPad.

Sh in and volla , i havent synced my ipad with itunes for months, everything gets copied over wifi

Admin, id recommend you go straight for the ipad3 although the differences between 2 and 3 are not exactly mind blowing, the increased resolution of the ipad3 is brilliant especially if you intend on reading quite a bit, makes a hell of a difference. It also has a much more powerful gpu so lag in 1080p videos is non exsistent. 4G/LTE means nothing for us do to uss using 1800mhz for voice and i don't think dina Pule is gonna refarm spectrum just for the new ipad

Osx 10.8 looks amazing ! The seamless social integration is awesome check graphite forums or mybroadband classifieds just saw a new ipad 16gb + 4g go for R4k which is a steal (local stock) !

You still have to 'sync' througb iTunes even though it is with wifi. Pain in the ass. Try accessing a random folder on your computer over wifi and copying whatever you want. Try bluetoothing a file from a client's phone. On the Samsung you can do anything, from whatever computer you want without the nuisance of a jailbreak which kills your app store. Don't get me wrong, the ipad is still an amazing device, but the choice on what tablet to buy depends on who is going to be using it.
