BF Goodrich vs Cooper tires. was created by CHAPEL
Hi.

Anyone have any experience with the BF Goodrich all terrains and the Cooper Discoverer A/T3s? Which did you prefer.

Going for 235/85R16, not sure if the Coopers come in that size but I will go for something similar.. I currently have shitty continentals 205/70R16 and they look like marie biscuits.

Thanks.

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

My Father has the BF goodrich tyres on his prado and he loves them, the side walls are re-enforced so you can take the tyre pressure rite down while on sand roads he also says they last him a realy long time.

With hard work and dedication you can achieve anything!

BF Goodrich is good 4x4 tires, but I don't have personal experience with Cooper.

I have to replace my tires as well, but will probably go for Bridgestone again, because I do the majority of driving on road.

Ya the BFG A/Ts are getting my vote right now as well. I don't do a lot of off roading but I do every now and again. Plus I like the white writing on the side wall, I appreciate aesthetics. Had it wrong though, I don't have 205s on they are 235s already so I may go for the 265s which a friend of mine has.

Then my only concern would be increased fuel consumption, or will it be minimal? I already have an over fueling problem that needs attention, scored an amazing 295kms off a 55litre diesel tank while driving like a Grandmother and 255km while driving normally, and I commute on open roads with very few stops and traffic..

That is incredibly bad fuel consumption. What do you drive again? Bigger tires will just make it worse and it makes handling shit in some cases. I have 265s fitted by default.

I get 10.4km/l in my 3.0L D4D ;-)

2.5L TD5 Defender 90, I really do have to get it sorted out because it is a huge problem.

Hey Bud, I have no experience with Cooper's but BF A/T's for the win all the way.
I stand to be corrected, but it's the only tyre with a 3 ply side wall, so in essence nothing should really penetrate through there. (only a concern if you go off road of course)

What all salesman seem to forget to tell you is the road noise factor.
These A/T and more so M/T (Mud Terrain) tyres generate a fair bit more road noise. Yeah they look cool, but they can be very noisy.

My last concerning experience was that they tend to 'crawl' more sideways compaired to the normal road tyre. I guess this is due to all the grip they provide.

All in All, I'm very happy with my BF A/T's!!!
