Number of reps in one minute... 30kg bar... maybe I will try this tomorrow morning... but then to get fast reps you are probably going to be swinging more than lifting anyway...

Don't waste my time on nonsense. Like the bench press comp...lighter guys have an advantage. Where can a guy my weight bench 120kg 40+ times in 1min? Well I can't. Barbell curls will need strict form. And for what actually? What do u actually prove? Nothing. 10min of fame and a free hamper. Whoop whoop. Rather just buy the stuff lol

I watched a guy of 97kgs bench that for 42 reps the other week, a guy of 50kgs did 10 reps. Some okes are poes strong, I don't think any one is at an advantage on a weight based challenged.

the bench comp this year (today in ballito) is now done in weight categories..
70-80
80-90
90-100
and 100 open i think

so at least you just compete against your weight class.

@MCJ there's a cash prize of R1000 for the day and 5k overall for the bicep comp. not bad if u a student ;)

judges only count strict reps so you are only going to hurt yourself by doing cheat reps!

I have to agree with MCJ lighter guys do have an advantage and also guys with less bf%. Lets look at 2 samples:

Guy 1 weighs 100kg with a bf% of 5% so his lean muscle mass is 95kg he needs to lift 100kg and has 95% muscle on his frame.

Guy 2 also weighs 100kg but has a bf% of 15% so his lean mass is 85kg he only has 85% muscle on his frame the leaner guy has the advantage here hands down.

getting big one rep at a time!

A guy doing a cycle will have a definite advantage over a natural lifter.

The guy who won the bench challenge took a super wide grip as well. Wouldn't recommend that wide a grip for anyone.
