Ipad 3 or galaxy tab 2

My wife wants to get a tablet which one should I get ?

Ipad or Galaxy ?

The Ipad is "simpler" but the galaxy will provide more customisability...
Also... Ipad = itunes... galaxy has no itunes.

Bro I own an ipad2, and a samsung s3 phone,I will only go android now, I don't like having to be locked in to apple via itunes etc... Galaxy 2 for my vote

i was the same before i had the S3. i had an iphone 4s and was always a huge apple fan. ive been converted to android for life.

in the end it comes down to personal preference. play with both and see which 1 you like

I agree - Galaxy - Android sooo many many apps

If you know how to crack the apple, then go for the ipad 3

Fully agree, I'm not a fanboy or biased but once you use android apple seems very dull by comparison. Unless of cource you jailbreak your apple device, but seriously don't you want a powerfull device out of the box without the need to jailbreak it and loose the warranty?

it still sucks. you cant do anything via itunes after its jailbroken

Yeah I can't see how a company will keep a warranty after you load some custom firmware that's designed by who knows who and could easily brick the device. One could easily see how such a thing could be used to basicly destroy another company in the same market. It would take the samsung vs apple saga too another level:p

That's actually why I went to a Apple store to make sure, funny how both did not know the standing on this.

There's no need to Jailbreak it anyway. All the Apps are available if u get a overseas Apple Account and are willing to pay for the Apps. If you do decide to jailbreak it and need to take it in for whatever reason, just update the software. It will remove the Jailbreak. They won't know the difference.

Incidently, the Google Nexus 7 is being release quite soon. It a 7 inch tablet. Indicative price is R3000 +/-. Runs Android 4.1, Jellybean.Thats a good option as well.

I'm a full on Android junkie. Have been using an Android phone for a few years. If I had the choice of a tablet, I would get an Ipad.

Being a guy I actually care about features and functionality. I can say without a doubt that MOST of the Apps on Android allows you more control and options. Same goes for the Android OS itself.

Girls tend to like Apple more because it's pretty and sleek and features are like, whateverrr.... LOL

Sorry for being a bit sexist here, but 90% of chicks could care less about the tech details.... rats...

Lucky me... my wife has an iPhone 3G... but will be moving over to Android based device now...
Now...if only I could get her to come pick up some weights ... lol... she has some back issues resulting in a slightly head forward posture... I reckon some stronger back muscles would help sort that out.

Just bought 2 Galaxy tabs for the Girlfriend and me. I had an Ipad and we use Apple at work..... Never will do apple again.
I can download stuff straight onto the Galaxy, from music, you tube vids etc... Apple locks you into their legit stuff. I'm sorry but if a song is available for free (as long as not an SA artist), then i want to download it for free, and Samsung does that. My girlfriend is loving the tab and its much easier to use and no "SYNC" etc..... So you dont really need a laptop or desktop.

MTN had them on a special for R169 each. This was the 7".

I'm going to be very honest here. Lately, I've lost all my support for Apple and I hope iOS devices fail so that they can go back to OS X and computer hardware.

All they care about lately is the big sellers like the iPhone and iPad. Today it has been 518 days since the last iMac upgrade and 685 days sine the last Mac Pro upgrade. I have the fastest iMac you can buy from Apple and even the Macbook Pro outperform it with CPU related tasks. I'm rather bitter about that, because I need a more powerful desktop as I run everything encrypted ect.

Going to a PC is also not an option, because I will not waste my time with shit like Windows and going Hackintosh is also too painful.

Well end of the day i'm an Android guy and have the Tab 2, it's shit and the New ipad is better.. For phone I wouldn't go with anything other than the Galaxy S3 its a machine!
