Hi,

I'm thinking of getting one of these to make my cardio more effective - to maximise fat burning. Does anyone have experience with them? Your reviews please.
Also, could they serve a purpose for weight training?

Thanks

I've also been considering this. I don't trust the built in monitors on the cardio equipment.

I bought one a while ago and I love it. Works very well and the part I like best is that you dont have to hold on to the handle bars all the time when on the exercise bike. Interestingly the one I have does not have some sort of shielding for the chest strap to watch connection so when I am on the treadmill at gym, All the other treadmills display My heart-rate! Parking near those treadmills while they display MY heart rate and watching all the people running their asses off trying to get their heart rates above 80 has good entertainment value

look to get a heart rate monitor with bluetooth so it can send the data to your phone or the new ipod nano. from there you can easily track progress and log all kinds of stats.

I have a polar RS800CX..... awesome!!!

You can use it for cycling, running, swimming or heart rate only. It's one of the best.

Saw that a few months ago and I think you're right in saying it is not officially available here yet. I have seen some for sale though by people who have brought them in themselves.

Just googled it, looks great but costs much more than I'd be prepared to spend!

I bought the FT7 model and tried it out for the first time yesterday on the stepper. I had to drop my cardio intensity by quite abit to stay in the fat burning zone, to the point where it hardly felt like a workout.

Anyway, burnt about 120 calories in 10min.
