Hey Gents

The last 2 days I've had to leave the gym by my second set with killer headaches. I'm half way through my tbol bridge I walk into the gym feeling fine but after 2 sets my head feels like it's going to pop. Any ideas?

Thanks

A headache in the back of the head combined with vision problems sounds worrying. Cerebral aneurysm (burst artery) could be a possibility so have it checked out if it becomes worse.

Happened to me some years back and had to stop training for 3 months before it got better. There was someone on this forum long ago that also had to get some form of brain scan due to this as well.

Yes, a pain such as that isn't something one should ignore.
I've had a similar experience in the past a few years back when training heavy on my compound movements.
Not a pleasant experience at all. However my experience was as a result of over exertion and bad breathing techniques, lack of hydration etc. Otherwise known as "exertional headaches".

It could also be a cluster headache (sharp pain typically on one side of the head that may affect your eyesight for a brief period as well). Any particular exercise could set off a cluster headache because physical activity raises your body temp. and increased body temp. is a known trigger for cluster headaches.

But don't ignore it. Go see your Doctor.
He may want to run a few tests to see if there are any underlying causes for the headaches.
But it depends on his diagnosis.
Monitor it from there forward.

Well Moose was on the money.

Doc said he's sure it's cluster head aches from the heat and going to heavy.over exertion. Told him I'd just finished a cycle and he was understanding but said I must not train for at least a month. I tried anyway but any compound movement and I'm done. So now to sit on my ass and watch most of my gains disappear

Just keep your calories high, a month off training is really not that long.

Ye. Also trust Bloody VA for a change, upgrade the AC in the middle of summer and supply a couple of shitty fans to blow the smoke from the angle grinders around instead of just doing it in winter. I no thats not the only reason I clearly haven't been drinking enough water but it didn't help.

Yeah it sucks, but thankfully his diagnosis didn't reveal anything worse.
Just rest up good, keep eating properly and when you get back in the gym you can do so knowing that your system has had a well deserved rest and you can get stuck in again.
