Probably higher than he deserves.
Before anyone attacks me, I'm just saying that it seems that Jay is an Olympia favourite with the judges even though he usually has a worse physique than those directly below him. Take the 2011 Olympia, he came 2nd with that ugly swollen bicep, even though Kai was in much better shape than him. I reckon the 2007 and 2010 Olympias shouldn't have been won by Jay either. It's as if he comes in completely shredded and in immaculate shape one year (eg. 2006) then in worse shape the next, but they give the next year to him as if his points from the previous year carry over.
2006, Jay looked awesome, 2007 he did not (which he won), again 2008 he didn't (which he then lost. 2009 Jay looked awesome (those quads!) then he wasn't as on in 2010 as in 2009, yet he still won. Only with his torn bicep and obvious lack of competition shape compared to Phil in 2011, did he lose, yet still placed 2nd.
I've never been a fan of Jay's physique, he is very blocky and has a very wide waist, and his back (though wide) is not nearly the quality of that of guys like Greene, Heath or even someone like Martinez. That said, the man is a legend, and is to be respected, because at his best he still is a very fearsome competitor.
But all in all, my 2 cents, Jay shouldn't place as high as he normally does.

Kai was 299 pounds and shredded just the other day. No one is going to touch him this year. Pittsburgh classic was a taste of what's to come.

Interesting point of view bud. I definately agree that in the previous Mr Olympias he has placed higher than he should have, but it can´t be said that he didn´t work his knob off for it. Jay is probably the most dedicated bodybuilder out there and let´s not forget that Jay was the one who took out Coleman. A bit too robotic for my taste. That´s where I like Phil and Kai a lot. This year I wreckon will go to Kai.

I hope so and that politics don't get involved.

Just my opinion but kai has a really weird structure which is just not soft on the eye. He will win a battle of the freaks contest or feature on superhuman showdown or the circus, but not sure of mr. Olympia....
CHAPEL wrote: Very disappointing of Branch.. Just saw the photos. Looks shit. I agree that Kai's physique is very harsh, Phils seems to 'flow,' for lack of a better term, and seems very natural on him. If that makes sense.

Chapel was right, the more he posed, the better he got,the more kai posed the worse he got,he nearly passes out after the call out when phil was taking his time to hit poses which was his game plan.
Thunderbeast wrote: Thing is phil can just get bigger and then hell be clear ahead of kai. Where on the other hand, we all know what happens when kai comes in heavier... He looks even more "synthetic" and has conditioning issues...not able to get dry enough

A purely objective look at the Olympia would say that Kai should win, for if the Olympia were judged purely on the merits of a balance between size and conditioning (obviously with proportions thrown in there as well), the top 2 would be Kai and Phil pretty much always, probably with Kai taking it, as I feel his conditioning sometimes trumps that of Phil's (not always though, for example the 2010 Arnold Classic I believe should've been Phil's).
However, looking at the overall physique, just in terms of aesthetics, Phil beats Kai anyday.
I quote a couple of you guys from last year (hopefully you'll understand what I'm trying to say through your own words better)

So yeah, moving away from the era of mass monsters such as Dorian, Ronnie and even Cutler...I think Heath might be the way forward for bodybuilding.
