Thyroid test result what does it mean?

Hi Gents

My wife has been displaying symptoms of under active thyroid, so she went to doctor and she ordered some tests. Apparently her tests came back fine, but my wife is still showing symtoms of fatigue, constantly tired and her hair is thinning and brittle. She also battles to lose weight despite excercise and a calorie restricted diet.

I managed to get a copy of the test results, could anyone with the knowledge on this topic give their input including "Muscleaddict".

I'm also stumped bro and it looks fine besides T3 being on the lower end. Some people with thyroid issues can have a perfect TSH and T4 level but their bodies don't convert T4 to T3 efficiently so they will still feel constantly fatigued and have the other hypothyroid symptoms. If her T3 levels vary from where they are now down to a bit lower maybe that is the problem. That's all I can think of unless it is not thyroid related.

What else do think it could be if not thyroid related?

An estrogen imbalance can also make hair brittle and low estrogen can cause fatigue. Is your wife's menstrual cycle fine?

Her cycle is irregular since coming off the pill 2 years ago, sometimes upto 2-3weeks late.

I have irregular cycle and hair thinned out a lot - men at my work even notice it! Turns out I have raised testos free and total testos levels.

She should go for another set of bloods and add in female hormones, iron levels, cortisol and if still unhappy then maybe see an endocrinologist.

She should get those hormones tested. Could very well be the problem.

I would get a full hormone profile and take it from there. Those symptoms could be anything. Even Anemia.

Hey Gents and ladies

My wife went to another doctor yesterday, she has prescribed for her to go back on the pill called Yaz. The new doc recons alot of my wifes symtoms sounds like a hormonal imbalace, she said tests would be a waste because she will would still prescribe the pill regardless of what the results would be.
