Dieting Plateau??? was created by Riddin
I know there is such a thing as hitting a plateau in fitness levels etc...but is there such a thing for when eating a diet specifically for fat loss? I have been eating healthy but my fat loss seems to be getting slower and slower...I don't know what I could be doing wrong. Any advice?

readjust your calories. you've lost weight so your maintenance calories are lower. also throw a cheat meal in once a week, if you've been dieting for long your leptin levels decrease

That was actually another one of my concerns. In the beginning of my whole fat loss adventure I started on fat burners. was on them on and off the about four months, then went off them completely for another three months and since then I have tried to go back on the three times...and each time I try them, I get extremely nauseous and light headed. And they are the same brand I initially took so it's not like they're new to my body?? So now i am currently on no fat burners because im nervous to try again.

You will always hit a plateau with fat loss. It's just a matter of time before one's body adjusts. Reducing your calories to get fat burning going again can be very tricky because if you drop it too low your body will go straight into starvation mode and store body fat while burning muscle for fuel.

It might not make sense but by upping your calories for 2 or 3 days by adding just a few more carbs, like just 30-40g more carbs, you will boost your metabolism and confuse your body, so when you drop your calories down again you will continue to burn fat and break through the plateau. Or like Feathers said adding in just one cheat meal is also often enough to get the fat loss going again. If you need to adjust your caloric intake as little as 100-150 calories is usually all you need to adjust.

I've never tried upping my calories and then taking them down again...that would be something new to try, thank you. I am just worried about decreasing my calorie intake because as it is, as a Zumba instructor, I do two classes a day most days so I need to keep fuelled to keep my energy levels up.

yeah that stuff wouldn't help you much. its more of an appetite suppressor than a fat burner. probably why you felt nauseous

Fat Furnace Fifteen, clen, yohimbine, heat, something along those lines.

have you ever considered doing a ketogenic diet? once you start using ketons for energy you feel great, and have a lot more energy. would help with the zumba

I haven't heard of a ketogenic diet before. Any links you can post on here for me to have a look at about it? Keen.

Thanks...thats very helpful. One question though...do you think eating like that will sustain my energy levels? I have tried a low carb diet before and I got very weak. Someone said to me that maybe I am carb-dependant.
