Eish - What do I do? was created by FatBoy
Ok some background.

Lighty plays 1st team rugga - His stat's, 17 years, 1.80 and 70kg's. He is on Ritalin which badly affects his appetite and he's battling to pick up weight. Some of his mates are experimenting with orals and some are allegedly even pinning so he is seeing their short term gains. Luckily I have a very open relationship with him and he's now approached me to ask if he can do a cycle.

Obviously I am very much against this because of his age, but I know that youngsters will be youngsters. The conundrum is that I would rather be involved than have him go and follow some stupid ill informed advice from a PT or his buddies and/or take something behind my back that I won't know about.

I have been trying to up his cal's using high carb meal replacements/higher cal foods, but his school sport training/playing regime has him busy 6 days a week and he can only consume so much food with his poor appetite because of the Ritalin (we have also tried Concerta to see if we can improve his appetite to no avail)

Any advice on what to do will be appreciated.

I take ritalin and I find I can overcome the loss of appetite by using products from Walden's farm. They make a whole range of completely calorie free sauces, dips, butters, etc. They even have calorie free pancake syrup, marshmallow dip, bbq sauce and peanut butter. But if you aren't worried about him picking up a bit of fat to bulk up for rugby then give him sauces and honey on his meals and oats and they'll be a lot easier to eat. Once he is on a proper diet for his stats he will no doubt start picking up weight. In my opinion, it is not worth him taking steroids at his age and level of sport. it's under 19 school rugby so their should be testing involved and it's not going to be his career so potentially risking his health is not necessary. In terms of the correct approach you have it spot on and are lucky to have that open relationship and of course it would be much better to do it properly if he's going to do it at all but I'd say get him to enjoy his food and he'll pick up the weight he wants to. 17 and taking steroids opens him up to a world he is definitely not yet ready for. hope this helps and goodluck.

Just a thought.....

Why not get him animal stak or m stak? Even if u must hide the tin and remove the packets so he can't see what it is and tell him its something else that will make him grow. I'm sure that will make some difference not to mention the huge placebo effect it will have on him. But keep in mind, even by lying to him about what he is taking is still "condoning" the use of AS, if that makes sense. Its hard as we all know what kids are like. Yes, if he doesn't hear what he wants from u he may take behind ur back but that goes for most other things as well. Just my worthless 5c
