Friend lives in my shadow was created by 333
Hey Guys,

I'm here to ask some advise. I have a 'friend' that I know on a personal level, but also interact with on a professional bases, so basically I see him everyday.

My challenge is this, for past 3-4 years he has been doing EVERYTHING, I'm doing.

I start to lift, he lifts.
I buy a boxing bag, so does he.
I but a new car, he does too.
I change to a different program, so does he (and we don't gym together).
I change diet, so does he.
I change supplements, so does he.

He has even gone so far as to repeat my idea to other people while taking credit for it.

He even bought the same protein shaker I did!

It's ridiculous and I don't know what to do anymore. The obvious answer is not to share anything with him, but even that seems to delay him (monkey see, monkey do). It's annoying.

What would you do?

You could marry him as per Rhino

OR ask him directly why the F*** does he copy everything you do, tell him its annoying and it will jeopardise your relationship. Best to be direct. I would have slapped him long ago.

I wouldn't be too troubled by that, if I had any friends... which I don't btw... not that it's bothering me... too much... actually I'm a little lonely, but I can live with it, umm... will you be my new friend 333?

Seriously, I'm with xrapidx on this.

Lag ek nou lekker vir julle manne!

My fiance also agrees that it's a compliment to me and the live I choose to lead, although it is annoying as all hell.

He lives quite an isolated life, which is why I haven't smacked him over the head yet.

It's so confusing to be flattered, sympathetic and annoyed at the same time. Maybe I should tell him that I'm going to do something really stupid and have him go for it. What are friends for?

hy het maybe 'n selfbeeld probleem en doen als wat jy doen ens, om hom te laat beter voel en lyk oor homself. vat dit as 'n kompliment omdat hy soos jy wil wees/lyk :-)

sorri hijack oor.

Dont be a dewz to the guy, support him. He will find his own feet once he has found himself.

@oupa, nah I can't. I've known him for about 20 years now (literally), and we are actually good mates.

I just wish that he could try and find a place for himself in the world - something that we have all needed to do on our own at some stage.

Tell him that you and your Mrs have joined a swingers and bdsm club and see how quickly he doesn't follow your every move anymore. And if he does then, well,i dunno.

Would have been interesting if your fiancé had an identical twin sister.
