Been wondering if I should change to a smaller gym?

Those who have gym'd in VA/PF and "private" gyms....what are you views?

What are the pro's and con's.

And my gym is now starting renovations so it is going to be fun

I have been with two small and one big GYM

Smaller gyms get my vote

Big gyms i find i get hasseled with socialising when i just want to make love to the iron

Small gyms have lots of equipment and guess what... you dont have to wait to use any of it.

Many pros and cons.
Fillet is right but also you need to be in a gym where people are better than you aswel so you have a bit of competition.
This is a biggy especially when competing.
That's just my view.
I trained in a bigger gym and didn't really enjoy it for the simple reason of that I have a plan and don't like changing it. I hate waiting.
The new gym that I have joined is frikin awesome and has potential to be such a hardcore gym.

My preference is small private gyms. You will maybe find me in a public gym when i use their swimming pools for cardio.

A bigger gym with all the facilities are great. But you have to go at a time when the public are at work. Otherwise small gym

Today I will do what I never thought possible!

Smaller gyms all the way! As long as they have a good selection of equipment.
Your on the Eastside hey Pixie? You should have a look at Trinergy in Northmead.

Go big or go home...

Yeah Rhino, I'm from the east. Will go and have a look. Northmead isn't too far from me.

I gym from 11 so it's normally quiet but I'm still not keen.

It just doesn't feel "comfy". I feel awkward and do most of my training in the studio

The only ones I know of besides the N Suburbs are for private personal training sessions and cost an arm and 2 legs. There's Mustang in Parow and also West Workout in Somerset West which is a really good heavy lifting gym but that's a bit far out.

So that Trienergy place in northmead mall is decent? well fuck. I thought it was a girly studio/cardio/bring your mom and aunty Curves type joint...

I'm at the VA 5 mins down the road from there in Benoni. Its ok. Typical older equipment though...
