Subaru Forester. was created by Rhino
I'm looking at getting the wife a new car. We had a look at the Subaru forester 2.5 XT this weekend and it seems really nice.
Does anyone have any experience with them?

We pull them out when they get stuck on beaches and muddy terrains all over SA. In town she should be ok ;)

New / 2nd hand? Subaru's are great cars but very expensive too maintain. Servicing isn't costly but when parts start to break...EISH.

An ex-gf of mine's dad had 9 Ferraris to choose from and this is his car of choice for the city. Drives like a dream!

Thanks Gents

I've got a Disco so we wouldn't use the forester for off-road apart from maybe the Kruger and that you could do in a golf. She's looking at a smaller SUV and the forester seems to be the best from what I've read. We test drove one on the weekend a demo with 25000km on the clock and they do move..!

Perfect for what she is looking for. Hows the factory warranted or motorplan ? 100 000km or what ?

Ye and the other plus side would be that I could use it sometimes for deliveries without feeling to Queer! A land over isn't always the best car for shooting around JHB.

At first she wanted a Fortuner but we don't need 2 big cars and secondly they seem to steal them left right and centre.

Make sure about that. And then make double sure about that. And then read the contract and make triple sure about whats being covered.. I paid my school fees, so just a heads up.

Good all round SUV and perfect for a lady.

So we did get the Subaru. What a fantastic car so far, I've been using it to go to gym in the mornings.

Best feature is the central cup holder: it can take a shaker :woohoo:
