Diet and being busy was created by Kuifie
Hi all

I have been working to improve my diet, and been going good and its getting on track. However Ive been on vacation and that is almost coming to an end. In the past I have been struggling with diet when I am extremely busy, but I want to keep the eating going good to keep the growing good.

Do you guys have any little tips or tricks you guys use and want to share besides the real basics ?

Interested to hear what you have to say.

Hey my bro,

The key for me was just to create the time to try and eat cleaner.
Despite being busy, I forced myself to set aside an hour or two in the evening to pre-prepare all the meals I needed for the following day.
You can do this every two or three days if you prepare properly.

For example I made a point of going out and doing simple things like buying tupperware. and a seperate bag to carry my meals if I was running around. A cooler bag in the car, a microwave at the office, etc, etc.

Yesterday for example I cooked two kilograms of chicken fillet and also a huge pot of basmati rice. I have brocolli and my shakes ready to roll because I knew that early this week I would be hectic.

Its all about making the time. At my age I have realised that I have to put more hard work into the cooking then I do at the gym, otherwise I am wasting my time bru.

Its tough to keep eating the same crap, but having the tupperwares filled means I am more unlikely to hit some takeaways.

Good luck,

Nate

Today I will do what I never thought possible!

Try eating twice or thrice a day, as long as you hit your macros, sure there are better ways but if you're pressed for time like I am then cram it up, its not going to work less. total calories daily is what matters

Lol it takes me less than 3 mins to scoff a meal. Do it 4 x a day at work and that's 12 mins in total of work time used. The other 2 meals are at home, 1 morning and other evening and depending on how late I go to bed I try squeeze another meal in. Surely you can get that in???
The dedication comes in the prepping. Like Nate said prep meals the night before, don't be lazy, just think of where you want to be and that will.motivate you.
It literally takes me 35 mins to steam 1.2kgs of chicken breast, basmati rice for 4 days, broccoli for 1 day and 12 eggs for 1 day.
Time management. Lol
Once you get into routine it's a breeze bud just keep going.
Good luck and all the best

3mins to scoff a meal, lol, u must eat like a deranged wild animal then Tstyle

My only concern further more is getting my food warm again at eating times, since I am a student, and on campus I think I must asks lecturers or somebody to use a faculties kitchens microwave just to heat things up, nothing worse than cold rice and chicken for me.

Do any of you guys have a certain meal that works both hot and cold that can bridge such a problem

Hahaha warm?????? Dude my meals come out the fridge in the morning before work. First 2 meals at work are still cold. Hahaha
Look that's me. Food is food. Yes more enjoyable when warm or hot but does the same for me in all honesty.

Oats/whey and nuts. Just put the oats and whey mixed with water in a shaker after it's soaked for 20min eating is no problem.
And if i don't have nuts I'll blend peanut butter in the water before I add it to the oats.

Sorry I was not going to much into detail.
12 eggs of which I only eat 4 yolks. I scramble them.

I blend two of my daily meals. Just because I don't have the time to eat them whole.
I blend sweet potatoes, chicken or tuna, brown rice, lentils, chick peas and even broccoli.. I don't care about the taste. I just wanna get the food in. Takes me under a min to down an entire meal. I make 10 shakes at a time, all in one shot and then freeze them. I have dozens of shaker bottles and lots of freezer space >> this might be a challenge for you.

Hahaha! Thanks bru! Appreciate that! Can't say I enjoy them hey, cause that would just be a lie! LOL! ;) I've always been a 'hard gainer' and everyone told me I need to eat 'proper food' and stay away from protein shakes if I wanna really gain good mass. I listened to them, but always battled to get in the volume of chow, cause of my size... So I came up with this. Been doing it for a few years and it's really paid off. I literally down the entire shake in one go and don't taste it at all. It's down the hatch in 30 seconds! :woohoo:

I actually have a bud studying at UCT and he does this. Helps him a great deal in terms of time and convenience.Think you guys might be surprised what us hardcore oaks blend in the blender.

I know exactly what you go through in the res! Big respect if you can chow clean bru! I know it's flipping challenging in that disgusting res kitchen!

You gents have it all wrong...

This is what you have to do:

1) Get a stay at home wife
2) Explain to her what your macros are and how it works
3) Have her prepare all your meals for the next day
4) Eat and Enjoy

:) :)

Also set alarms for when you have to eat for a reminder
