The sensors in majority of BMW's start to go after a few years.. My wife's car was NEW, replace the brakes, bam the sensors are gone..

I got rid of that car very quickly.. Just know the Ford ST is a nice car, the problem is its a young guys car so majority of the time it's been drilled.

I do know Ford has some of the worst plans around, the extended warranty plan, who is it through?

You need to be so careful with them, as when it comes time to pay they start digging into the fine print..

I know buy the most expensive motor plan, where everthing is covered, except tyres. Brakes, wipers, globes, you name it, it's covered..

The Ford ST is a lovely car, my brothers had one some years back with the blue stripes, the car pulled nicely..

Get a motor plan and take the BMW...

Leave the ST for the young-uns...

The BMW is super smooth...

But if you see mitsubishi run the fuck away

Bmw for sure , gives you a more Sophisticated and successful look as if you achieved your goals in life and have the luxury to afford what you can drive

So go with the bmw

Because every young snob with a rich mommy and daddy is driving around with a ST and I'm sure you don't want the spoiled brat image

BMW is not what it was ten years ago and St is a boy racer. Audi won't let you down but buy in warranty. Brake change was 12k, but it's still under warranty. Not a days trouble.

Mate, I know you have been given a lot of advice here and have that and all else concerned to make a good decision.
I can only caution against against a BMW that is no longer on motor plan, I assume that you dont want to burn money on endless repairs whcih may surface. Sure the ST has its flaws but it will surely cost you a lot less to maintain than a used BMW.

Again it matter what your goals are. Let us know what you finally decide upon.

Why not a 330D? Luxury plus it can be pretty potent with a chip and some tinkering - a stage 2 E90 330d made 784nm

I am a bmw fan but in this i would go for the st... firstly 0-100 in 6.9 sec so will out perform the bmw and secondly 2013-2014 will have service plan and warranty so better option financially and then feul economy wise a 323i gets mabe 9l per 100km where the st will sit on 6 mabe 7 so more feul economic so all round better decision

Yip I love the thing. I'd choose it any day of the week for JHB driving over my Discovery.

Lots of good info here, any of the 6 cylinder petrol BMW's you can't go wrong with. Honestly I have been fortunate to own a few very nice cars but since getting my first BMW I haven't looked back. Let us know how it goes.
I may be tempted to look at a 320d at that price point you could pick something very decent up.
