Well I had guys try to Rob me (it was a Kruger rand deal gone bad) I cant go into details but I'm fine. The fuck up is that because of the blood I got on me I'm now on ARV's for 30 days as a precautionary measure wich make you feel like a horses ass and take away your appetite completely. One way to loose the Christmas flab I guess :lol:

Has anyone else had to take exposure precautions before?

I've been on them MANY times for needle stick injuries at work and obviously prescribe them all the time for patients who have been exposed.

Last time I prescribed it they were still using tenofovir, aluvia and 3tc. Not sure what you're on now but the main sides are nausea and diarrhoea.

Serious sides are drug induced hepatitis and affecting your lipids.

I'm on Atripla, apparently it a new 4 in one? I've just suffered with loss of appetite ,lite headed ness and sweats. But then I've had that from Clen before :lol:

To be honest I'm just happy to be on them the first night after having questionable blood in my eyes and on cut hands I didn't sleep a wink panicking about possibly catching HIV and the life I was going to be able to give my wife and Son.

Sorry to hear bro. Off the bat, getting HIV is not that easy, so at least let that ease you somewhat.
Atripla is the current 3-in-1 combo, EFV/TDF/FTC so you're in good hands there. And if you started the ARV's asap you should be covered 100%.

The only serious S/E you may have to watch for is the psych stuff for EFV. You may get hallucinations so take it at night. If it gets bad you can switch to Alluvia/3TC/AZT but you should be fine.

I assume you've had your Hep-B vaccs though? That is MORE of a concern than HIV (imho) because the HEP-B virus is damn tough. It can survive in dried blood and fluids for 10-14 days. HIV only a few minutes.

In fact I would advise everyone to get a Hep-B vaccination (3 jabs, 0, 1 and 6 months) your local pharmacy can sort that for you.

To give yourself total ease I would advise a PCR in two to four weeks which will clear you.

Swapping the dose to evenings have made a huge difference, I was getting major anxiety taking them in the morning for some reason every little task freaked me out and had me overwhelmed :blink: but now taking it before bed I seem fine in the mornings.
