Weight gain for Women was created by gambit
Hi peeps
I'm in serious need of your expert help. My wife has been losing weight drastically. She's always been skinny, but its bad now due to not being able to eat properly and stress. End of last year she had an op (ovarian cysts) and because of that she lost 10 kg's cos everytime she tried to eat something she got nauseous. 2 week after the op she could eat more again with feeling sick but then starte suffering severe abdominal pain again and a month after she had the ovarian op she was back in hospital. long story short, she has peptic ulcers and still suffers from it so will have to go back into hospital soon again. She use to weigh around 52-55kg's. her current weight is 43kg's and she's skinny as hell. I bought her nutritech mass builder to take with her meals so that she can pickup again but that didnt help. She does eat, but i'm guessing she doesn't eat much. She started running recently and i told her thats not going to help her pickup, she needs to look at resistance training but ja, she's being stubborn. What can i do to help her get to a healthy weight again.
Shes 27yrs old, height 1.68m and weight now 43.5kg's

Hi bud,

You're right in saying that the treadmill certainly won't help. Long distances on the treadmill will just add in fatigue and strain her more. I'd still recommend some cardio as it will be beneficial for her appetite and overall wellness. Some HIT training (15 min to 20 min) twice a week. For the rest, resistance. Nothing over the top. Upper body on say Monday, Legs on Wednesday and arms on a Friday. She needs to eat well before pushing herself too hard. Steady process is key. The carb shake will help. If she battles to eat bigger meals she can split it. My girl for instance battles to finish a whole plate some nights. She then eats for example the chicken and rice and keeps the veg for later. You said that she suffers from stress as well. Look into getting something to help with that. I used to use 5 HTP, that's scheduled now. You can try St Johns Wort. Also works well. Get a good multivit too.

Just my thoughts on this. Sure some others will contribute.

Perhaps make food smoothies to help get it down. Oats, whey, banana, peanut butter, maybe some milk and then water. Then blend. Makes a yummy shake (with the peanut butter) and can have a lot of carbs.

How does she handle fatty foods like peanut butter, avocado, olive oil, nuts, etc? I bet that mass shake upsets her stomache terribly? What about cheese and cream?

That's great bud use the shake then! As much as possible. If she eats more than her daily expenditure she will gain fat gaurenteed. Look, the satanic formula is:
High insulin + unused calories (fats are best) = fat gain
So use that shake or any form of sugar she loves like like cereal or dextrose or fruit or something and tell her to stuff her face with almonds or cashews. McDonalds sodas and salads are excellent to help you cram in the sugar. Avoid fibrous foods. Be sure to give her a multivitamin that should help tons!
