Cortisol was created by Colt
If I may steal from another post:

"But Halotestin is fantastic for individuals in a catabolic phase for "peaking" right as it blocks Cortisol, which is good as high cortisol during competition time is bad for muscle look and dryness."

Are there products that -

1) can lower cortisol levels, and

2) if so, do they have side effects, like cortisol will rebound (raise) after you stop taking the product ?

I know of natural products you can buy from health shops, but in the post I am stealing from, Halotestin was mentioned ?

I don't want to try it - I am just curious.

Suppressed cortisol is an effect of anabolic steroids in general, with the more androgenic roids lowering cortisol the most. When you come off there is a rebound though.

If your cortisol is high then you can start by dropping caffeine from your diet, get 8 hours of sleep per night, cut out sugars and that will already make a big difference. Then you can supplement stuff like CoQ10, ALA, vitamin c, ginseng and I can't remember what else. Pyro knows a bit more about this from first hand experience I think.

Thank you sir :-)

Yes, I try to stay healthy. I sleep at least 8 hours night, and more. I don't use any sugar - my diet is sugar free. I take a lot of vit C (1000mg doses at a time - I don't believe in lower doses, as per Patrick Holfard).

And I also tried Rhodiola, a herb for lowering cortisol.

Other than that, I take magnesium, when I can - I say that because too much magnesium gives me diaree, I am very sensitive to magnesium.

I also take my vitamins, especially vit B. I now got myself a strong dose of vit B5, pantothenic acid, which keeps the (byniere in Afrikaans) healthy.

Other than that fish oil, procydin (antioxidant), selenium, cayene pepper, a strong probiotic.

Not sure if I missed anything now ...

Ok, the latter is not all Cortisol related :-) I just tried to mention the rest of the supplements I also take.

I have always been very interested in health, healthy living, supplements, vitimins, etc. etc.

Been reading about this stuff since I was about 19.

But when it comes to steroids, I am a complete noob.

yeah I wouldn't use halo as the primary tool to drop cortisol solely just from a price perspective, source quality & its place amongst other compounds being used.

the main purpose with halo for having a good effect in lowering it is ideally the aggression to sustain the motivation of a catabolic phase. strength improves when you eating nothing and if things are going to plan the compound can improve your composition quite a bit.

Hi Colt,

Byniere=kidneys. The science on all of those compounds is almost undeniably fact and you might be surprised at the outcomes. I am not gonna answer all of them but the ones that stick out.. Vit C has no effect on resting cortisol levels, and has been shown to both increase and decrease exercise induced cortisol spikes. Omega 3 fish oil is shown to slightly decrease cortisol but only slightly- nowhere near the media hype. Rhodiola is an amazing herb with great benefits as a general anti-depressant and mood elevator, but I cannot find a decent study where they study its effects on Cortisol.

I had to go and Google now. The "byniere" sit on top of the kidneys. I think they are the adrenal glands, or also called "suprarenal gland".

I had a discussion with the owner of a health store in Pretoria where I buy my health supplements, and our conversation turned to Cortisol. And then he mentioned these glands to me, and that B5 are a good supplement for keeping these glands healthy and balanced.

He told me they sit on top of the kidneys, but are as important as the kidneys, and that we cannot function without them.

I now remember that a friend of mine's wife had a tumour here, and because of that she had hormonal issues, and when they removed the tumour she was all fine again.

Our body is quite a unique machine.

Colt, is jy Afrikaanssprekend?

Kyk hier vir n mooi basiese prentjie oor jou endokrien-sisteem

I also learnt something knew now, which most of you guys will already know -

"(3) Cortisol suppresses the immune system. This makes steroid users more prone to diseases, such as cold and flu, during the period immediately following steroid administration. "
