lol Demonlish you are into heavy stuff, I refrained from posting tunes like that because I thought not many people would be into it. XD But I can't lift to something like Asking Alexandria, can't focus on form etc, it's like I need to concentrate on what's happening in the music because a lot of thee metal bands make really technical music. Mastodon is a brilliant example, very technical, well written heavy music, but will throw me off on a heavy squat. I guess for you it's probably the opposite. :P

I do not really listen to music at gym, I just listen to whatever they are playing.

However I have done some music listening when doing longer cardio sessions, I quite enjoyed listening to some Stephan Bodzin - he makes some good techno!! I love his new album - Powers of Ten.

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

I cannot go jogging without music. If it's outside I can maybe get away with it: ambiant nature noises, breathing etc. But inside the gym? Can't even tie my shoelaces without a beat. Psy just gave Stephan Bodzin a listen, I'll get hold of some of his stuff to try out but it seems to melow to get me amped.

But seriously it has been shown in studies that music that excites you will increase performance.

Yeah, might not work for you then.

I find his stuff very "trancey", not like the genre.

So helps me keep my mind off what I am currently doing (running / jogging / cycling) or whatever.

Oh I'm going to attempt to rectify the rectums in this thread. By gems I meant great songs. Let's stick to songs rather than "bands I like", because that is broader than the queue at McDonalds.

Ok so taking spoonfeeding a bit further:

Walk into the gym like the boss:
