Where do you guys purchase alcohol swabs from?
Dischem only carry their own brand at R23 for 30's, they also have disinfectant swabs for R14 for 22's.

Any pharmacy should have swabs.

I personally use 70% isoprop alcohol with cotton wool pads.
Same thing more or less, perhaps not as convenient as opening a bag though.

Reason for 70% as opposed to 90% is due to the fact that it won't evaporate as quickly and I have heard that it is more effective when it comes to molds and bacteria.


One thing to keep in mind is that alcohol only sanitizes and does not sterilize. So never wipe down your sterile syringe / needle with alcohol.

Try a pharmacy at a hospital normally much cheaper for needles, syringes and swabs.

Absolutely! Never ever touch your needle not even with an alcohol swab.

I was at Fourways life the other day and noticed a sign up stating that they require proof that you need needles to administer medication and will not sell you needles without proof in the form of a script or a letter from a Dr etc. Something to that effect at least.

Not sure how many other hospital dispensaries have the same or similar rules.

The fuck? First time hearing of this. Thinking it's the specific dispensary.

Got a friggen scripting for test if it ever comes to it (never used it though).

Iv never had a problem in my area bud reckon that signs just to keep the junkies away.
