Blood work was created by bms
Hi guys

What are the specific things or important things to request tested when doing your blood work?

Can I do a walk in at Lancet or Ampath and request a test?

How much roughly will it cost?

Depends what you want to test for and why you want to get tests done?

You can walk into Lancet, apparently Ampath don't do self referrals (they told me that last weekend when I tried).

I paid R766 for the following tests: Testosterone, LH, FSH. Each test can vary in price though - you can call Lancet Customer Services and they will give you a price for all the tests over the phone :)

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

I was just reading some articles, and it's recommended to know you testosterone and estrogen level, which hinder you from building muscles and losing fat.

BMS, above is fine and all, but further than that it will become more personal, according to your age, history, and chemicals you intent using.

If you are on the older side test PSH (hope it's the same in English, it's a prostate indicator)
Vegetarian/ Plan on doing T3/ looking pale: Iron levels, blood health.
Plan on using gear that will likely cause aromatisation: Oestrogen. Compare to well post PCT to check it doesn't spring up.

ok ciao.

Add: On the side, I've had a lot of problems with Ampath's accounting department this year. If I ever go for bloods again - straight to Lancet.

I get results in two days from Pathcare. No questions about referrals or anything else - pay cash up front

@Mack: You are fortunate to have a Pathcare nearby. Just checked for branches in my vicinity. None. :(

Does anyone know of a pathology lab in PTA (east) that doesn't ask for a referral? Lancet Lynnwood branch denied me this morning.

BMS please remind us what your age is mate? Honestly those are not the levels of a horny 20 year old, but your age and history might shed some light.

You lucky bastard! You are immune to cholesterol rising. So you can eat anything you want with whatever you want and backwards and your cholesterol will not move! Did you test LH and FSH?? Prolactin? Estradiol?

Side note, I can never understand why people test their Free Test when they are testing for Total Test. What will the free test tell you that the total test can't? The two are directly proportional, almost linear.

Lol

I'll do those ones in January, because I did these via med aid and the Dr suggested these tests after I told her what I wanted. I'll ask another Dr for a referral for these tests.

So what's on the results is what I did.

@Pyro, you know much more about this than I do, but the Pathcare results pro-forma states: "The calculated Free Testosterone is a more reliable reflection of bio-available testosterone than total testosterone or Free Androgen Index"

What I am saying is that you should do one or the other, but why both?
