Hi Furk
No not from critique Eidolon just said he would like to see me do it I know and Lalie knows I can do it heck it's where I stopped when I last sat foot in the gym last year.

So I just asked if I would be forgiven if I can not put up those numbers now as my whom training style and diet is now in a whole different direction with me trying to get below 90kg and do the Harties black ops all within 2weeks.

But yah I recon that about 3 weeks after Harties black ops I will be able to dead 160-180 same for squats?

It is on you. It always has been...

Hahaha no RooiBul don't worry about it. We have no idea who each other are, so I know there is no reason to lie about lifts. If someone gives stats here I take it for granted that it's truthful.

DAMN! You are a beast Rooibul!

Double your body weight on squats and deadlifts for 15 reps? I can do double my bodyweight but not for that many reps per set. Maybe double my bodyweight for 3x5 if I am feeling good.

All your running and the strength as well, very impressive IMO!

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

I must be the weakest guy on this forum, 180kg + bar weight I push out maybe 4 reps when strapped up and on gear.. I am also 6'4, so maybe the height makes it harder, but 4 plates is dam heavy for me.

You had a pretty bad injury though? But lol you don't really believe that do you bro? Taller guys have longer arms as well. Eddie Hall, the world's dead lift record holder is about 6'4 too. George Leeman USA raw record holder also around that height.

@00pump: In my opinion length is the first factor in a genetic high roll.

@MA: Travel path though? I get the ratio of limb to torso length remains more or less constant, but the distances will be different for 00pump compared to a 1.73m hobbit like me. Think this is what 00pump is getting at.

Go ahead bash I know I was dumb for cycling at such high body fat but hey to me I loved the strength and felt amazing

I get that bro, but ya deadlifts is about leverages and what give you mechanical advantage. Distance to move the bar means less when you have better leverage. Longer legs are harder to get going with, but a higher hip height gives better leverage and torque. Biggest factor is relative arm length. The best deadlifts in the world are tall. Eddie Hall who is #1 raw deadlifter is about 6'4". Thor Bjornson (450kg dead) is around 6'8".

Yes Eidololon.
Let me first see where I am at after the race. Let me first see if I can even still put up double body weight numbers.

I did not mean I am on cycle now. I meant when I last put up those numbers I was on a Super Test Cycle.

Going to have to change up my whole diet and training style to put up those lifts for you guys...

It is on you. It always has been...

Eidolon sorry bud.

Meant to say jees in that last post. Not yes. Let me first try get back up to double body weight lifts. Remember I have been training from home now for good couple of months my training and dieting are way different from what they were.

I would be impressed if I could squat or dead 160 for 12 now.

But lets be realistic I wil have to work and build back up to it if I just walk in and try putting up what I used to we all know something is gonna pop.
I apologise my wording should have been At one one time I used to be able to deadlift and sqaut those numbers. My diet and training style and my goals would not allow me to do those numbers now.

But in time I will be able to again if I build back up to it.

It is on you. It always has been...

Although a belt helps the back, it won't prevent injury from poor form if you're trying to lift to heavy to impress whoever (because no one worth impressing actually gives a continental, but will laugh at poor form)

Another very important safety factor for belts (and even at moderately heavy weights) is to prevent an umbilical hernia.

Ask me, I have had 2 repairs. Damage was caused early on due to lifting stupidly heavy weights when I was at varsity coupled then with most probably poor form.

Good judgement comes from experience.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Although I don't expect the belt to do the work, I don't expect it to automatically grant me perfect form. My need is to have bracing in my abdominal wall, from there the benefits come.

I didn't mean that you are expecting that, I mentioned so any guys who don't know about weightbelts can get some info.

Didn't realise Eddie Hall is also primarily a strongman. That's really interesting.

Just to follow up, ended up not buying a belt. Rather added extra hyper-extensions in my routine. Been a long ass time since I seriously tried to progress on deads. So December I all I could manage was 2 plates a side, now I'm pulling 160kg. No wraps, belts or chalk. Planning on keeping it that way for a while. Thanks for all the previous assistance all.

Keep at it bra.

Use 4-6 reps if you can go 4-5 sets just rest long enough between sets when training for strength.
