Shin Splints - Shoes? was created by PsyCLown
Hey all,

So I am currently busy with my 2nd cycle now and it seems that each time I start a cycle I get shin splints.
It happened with my 1st cycle and is happening now again with my 2nd cycle and it is getting quite frustrating and I am unsure what I can do.

I cannot run or even skip for cardio, I tried to do a Parkrun recently and had to leave after maybe 1KM if even. When I am not on cycle I do not have issues with shin splints really.

A friend suggested that it may be my shoes as I use old skating shoes which have flat soles - apparently flat feet can lead to shin splints and having flat shoes without arch support probably isn't helping.

So I am hoping someone here can assist me, I assume it happens when I am on cycle due to the extra weight I gain and how quickly I gain it as well as the fact that I get a pump easier when I am on cycle and a shin splint is sort of like a pump I guess.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

It's the pump you're getting from the superdrol. I've had two shin fractures because of Winstrol. Short esters and compounds that dry you up combine with running = shin splints. Keep away from running while on the superdrol, rather cycle, row or arc-train. You can continue running once you finished with that.

If I remember correctly you considering Winstrol in your bridge, that's a definite No-Go if you planning on running. Those shin splints will become shin fractures.

Brother, do you have flat feet or rolling ankles? Flat feet have an arch when no pressure is applied but go flat when weight is on them?

Last cycle I ran Dbol, test and then Winstrol as a bridge. I also got shin splints however I cannot remember when they started but I think it was before the Winstrol.

Regardless I will see how my shin splints are once I start Sdrol, this Sunday is my last day on Sdrol so lets give it a week or so and see whether it improves or not.

I am not sure, how can I check? Is there a place I can go and get them to check and let me know?

Hi Psy.

So you stayed on 10mg Sdrol?

If I was you do your running and cardio in proper cross training or running shoes a decent pair is about R2000

It is on you. It always has been...

Hey Psy, go over to a sports shop and they should be able to help you out with checking which shoes will suit you.

I went to sportsman warehouse as well as the Adidas store where guys were able to help me out. Both gave the same advice and i went on to purchase at another cheaper store lol

Please note i said a sports shop as most shoe shops will try to sell you shoes without any proper knowledge

Yeah, I did. However Thursday (tomorrow) until Sunday I am bumping up to 20mg to prevent left over caps and will see how I feel and should I run SD again I will consider 20mg from the get go but 10mg has made a difference.

Let me give it a go, I am always a bit skeptical about salesman and their knowledge.
Will go to a few different sports places and see what they say, then hopefully I can find a decent pair of shoes cheap online somewhere. :)

Trust me, its because of the pump. Any one on this forum, who are on orals and/or short esters, can take up running seriously and I guarantee shin splints within 3-5 weeks.

While on cycle, if not an out and out endurance cycle, you have to alternate between running/swimming/arc-training/cycling. Thats all that will work.

Thanks, quite annoying. I will give a spinning a go tomorrow. See if they have one of those "horizontal" cycling machines as well.

My gym partner is on the exact same cycle as I am, however he has no issues running and skipping. -shrugs-
I guess everyone is different.

That being said, I think I will still go and get my feet checked and look at getting a pair of running shoes as opposed to these ancient flat shoes I have been using which are now literally falling apart.
