My friend is 63 and he asked me the same question and the reply is definitely yes. Choose one of the smaller local shows and most of the time there will only be a max of three people competing and even if last you will still receive a medal. You will also take photographs that you will not be able replicate at home to show your body in its best state as you will be spray tanned and will be your leanest due to the food and water cuts. Just do it for yourself and don't worry about your fellow competitors as they are also fighting their own battles and insecurities. Twenty years later you can show your photographs with pride and say I did compete.

If that is a goal, then there is nobody, not any of us that should be saying anything other than if you set your mind to it you will be as ready as you can be. If you look at Kevin Levrones comeback, and yes not everyone is a freak like him, but we talking different levels here, he put his mind to coming back and that guy went through hell and he hopped onto that Olympia stage, knowing well before the show that he wasn't going to place, but he set his mind to it and he took his fans along for the ride and it was a great ride with great progress, yes he placed last but man his transformation was crazy! Deciding to do this, I would suggest you work with a coach if you not already doing so and let them help prep you as there is to many elements that they should he controlling and you should be focusing on your training and shoveling down the foods that's required of you, keeping yourself from getting the flu or sick, getting the rest your muscles need for recovery and keeping your head in check when it starts to doubt yourself.

Look if the calendar is out for next year, I'm not sure it is but the dates should be similar to a degree and start your prep, get your your calendar and start ticking the days away and take us along for the ride.

Thanks to 00pump and Triton for the comments .
Currently sitting at 80kgs unsure about bf% but usually doesn't go above 15%.
I am trying to get my PT business up and running to turn a profit.
My goal to the end of the year is to add another 5kgs of quality lean muscle.
I am struggling with bringing up the size of the legs due to a spinal fusion I had 7years ago.
I am unable to deadlift and can only do leight weight squats.
Leg day program at the moment is as follows.
I do ab work first to engage the core in the hope of reducing the possibility of injury.
Walking body weight lunges
8x 20reps
Close stance squats 4x20
Wide stance squats 4x20
Leg press 7x12
Leg extensions 7x12
No direct hamstring work as it fucks my back up.
Calves are done on arms day
Seated 7x20
Standing 7x20
I have been a certified PT since 2017
But am only now working in that capacity.
I have an appointment with my bio on Monday.
Will post results for opinions and advice.
I am hoping to save enough money to have surgery to remove the excess loose skin by the end of the year..
I am happy with my progress considering where I started out .
It has been life changing and challenging at times.
The motivation is not always there but the drive and determination never fades.
Diet is sometimes a bitch to maintain I struggle to get enough calories in.
There are days when I just can't eat at all.
Sorry for the long post.
This forum is invaluable for the advice and encouragement received. The missus is taking new pictures on Sunday.
Will share for critique.
