That was a good price.

I have the exact same thing here at home... but over 400kg of weight plates... lol

I snapped the bench in half though... so had to weld it back together...

The first time I slipped while squatting and tried to rest the barbell on the bench so that I could get out underneath it. In the process my finger got caught between a plate and the bench, so that was a pretty nasty thing. Since then I never squatted alone and also bought the rubber mats you see in the picture.

The second time I ignored the max weight warning and loaded the leg extension bar to the max with 20Kg weights. Think I had 100kg on it and started training. Next thing I was sitting on the floor between two halfs of the bench. Luckily I wasn't hurt.

Hey guys

A buddy of mine is putting together a home gym and I was wondering if someone here knows of any decent priced weights that he can buy?

Makro, Mr Price Sport and Sportsmans Warehouse keep the full ranges of weight plates and bars.

I foned Technogym for prices when i was setting up my Gym. Thank God I was sitting down when they gave me the prices, else i would have hurt my head when i fainted.

Got mine from www.genesisfitness.co.za/index.php

Good quality and they have the standard 25mm hole or the Olympic 50mm hole plates.

If you want to rage then go check out what you can get in the USA for what price. Literally one fifth of what we'll pay over here. A 1 minute search on Amazon revealed this: www.ama zon.com/York-Barbell-Olympic-Weight-Collars/dp/B003LT8KDG/ref=pd_sim_sg_3

Thats a York Oly bar with 140kg in plates and clips for 2200 rands. You'll pay rougly the same for a squat rack/power cage I'm sure. Thats you basically sorted for under 5g... I'm sure there are way better prices out there as well. Doesn't that piss you off? Remember this when you're paying 900 bucks for 2 10kg discs at sportsmans whorehouse.

On a side note, anyone have an idea what the standard "Zest" brand equipment costs? I've always wondered how much a cable x or a tri pushdown machine is that gyms use.

also got some equipment here if guys are looking, Zest equipment, barely ever used(unfortunately) a squat rack and a bench rack with a standing support plate for spotter to stand on, u slide a seperate mulit-angle bench in and you can do flat all the way up to 90 degrees. so it can be used for flat, incline and milittary press, and ofcourse the bench can be pulled out and used for any seated exercise etc. you all know Zest is serious quality stuff, its what the virgin actives have alot of. i am in Pe, so if you are interested but from out of town the logistics of it could be a bit more complex.

Once I was in search of getting a home gym, I really don't know where to buy. Then Then one of my friend suggested me homegymonline.co.uk/, it provides best deals on creating a home gym from boxing bags to weight lifting. I got the best equipments from them, buying online is quite simple. I would recommend this any one who wants to get home gym in comfort of their home.
