Lower abdominal pain.... was created by Perpetuous Dreamer
hey there guys
Since yesterday afternoon i have been getting quite an excruciating pain in my lower abdominal section just next to my left hip which is getting significantly worse, it has started aching when i am sitting now.however the real bad pain only occurs when I bend over. When flexing my abs there is very minimal discomfort. I have no clue what it is,perhaps hernia or a muscle tear or something worse?

any advice will be appreciated as i am freaking out a bit and the pain is getting worse...

i will attempt to upload a pic indicating exactly where the pain is located

Thanks in advance

or have you been doing hanging leg raises.. its quite common to get a twinge there that can be quite irritating, but it does dissipate, i get a similar feeling in that area after as dj says, deads and when doing hanging leg raises... spike will probably be along to ask a few questions

i just wrote a long and detailed reply but my phone lost it. Grrr.

So heres the short and sweet

hernia or muscle straim/tear should be palpable. What do you feel there?

Any other symptoms? Appendicitis can refer pain there, also intestinal cramps etc

muscle tear or trigger point should be worse on contraction against resistence.

Give me more detail and i'll try help more, sorry at my ladys house and she gets upset when i ''consult'' after hours ;)

Um, but im scared of needles...

thanks man i really appreciate it...
It feels slightly harder and "rougher" when compared to the right side...its a very subtle lump too...

Theres no other symptoms so i doubt it could be Appendicitis or a muscle tear...

is the lump that you feel tender? does it feel like a part of the muscle that you are feeling? Possibly a grade I tear or muscle strain. That will account for the rough feel, could even just be a trigger point or focus of spasm in the muscle

Um, but im scared of needles...

well if it aint tender to palpate then it either aint the right thing you're feeling, or it aint a muscle issue. Pretty tricky to diagnose from here... really need to take a look and feel

Just the pain - what about fever etc?
Utinary tract infection? Maybe the gland is swollen?
