Lee Priest is a fucking legend, one of the friendliest guys I've ever met. Unlike most other pro's, Lee's totally up front about his drug use and is more than willing to share his experiences.
Some things I've learnt about the "blonde myth":
- contrary to popular belief, he only started juicing 7 years into his training and is a firm believer in paying your dues as a natty first before jumping on the juice
- he confirmed what pump's been preaching about pro's not actually using that much gear, the most amount of test he's ever used was 400mg!! When I called him out on this he said most pro's would be pro's even without the juice as they really are genetic freaks. Told me a few stories about Paul Dillet and Gary Strydom and how they can just look at a barbell and grow muscle
- he's never used hgh or insulin, and doesn't regret not using it.
- he believes in cycling juice as opposed to staying on gear year-round like most other pros
- he no longer competes but says he might compete later in the year (mr universe, team universe or worlds, not sure)
- asked him if he'd consider powerlifting, he told me that when he was younger he used to squat 7 plates for reps and bench 520lbs (about 235kg) for reps, but isn't into powerlifting
Lee's having a seminar tomorrow at MKEM (in durbanville, on Durban Road) at 11 am - 1pm, R160 damage
Its worth every cent
Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!
