Well I don't see it as cheating. The athletes are just improving their natural talent.

You can't give me steroid and all of the sudden I'll be going at the 100m record.

All top athletes already use designer steroids. Steroid use never stopped in sports, people just get more creative. These SARMS we are going on about have been used by athletes for quite some time now. There are also more exotic stuff like Follistatin, AICAR, GW1516 and many others I don't even know about.

Many of these athletes have billions behind them in sponsorships ect and there is no way that these investors or governments will spend that much for personal talent only... there is just too much to loose, so to help ensure the success of the athlete and their investment they develop these designer drugs. In some/most cases the athlete might not even know he is taking something illegal, but I'm sure the majority use doctored vitamins or supplements.

For example, if I were to sponsor an athlete R10M so that my logo is on his back, I will make sure that I also pay someone close to him, like his trainer to give him some special supplements ect.

I think steroids have their place in sports. For example if i hear "oh well he's on steroids" in relation to bodybuilding one more time i am going to rage ;) steroids in bodybuilding are just part of the kit and the game, personally I'm not sure if we should be seeing them anywhere else except in sports like BBing power lifting, athletics etc due to the possibility of harm to other athletes who aren't inclined to use gear. If that is at all possible and not just an unwarranted concern obviously.

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

At first I was totally against it, especially in rugby.

But after sitting down and thinking about it, I'm starting to not mind it at all.
Just look at where it brought the game of rugby.

And if you listen to some players, they actually cut back on the use of it.
The X Bulls wing now playing for Wee Pee has cut back on it as he lost speed and agility.
It's doing the Bulls Nr 8 more harm than good , in my opinion. He's now too big and bulky??

Saying that I now like the natural players even more: Bakkies, Matfield, Schalla an so forth...

I must say my outlook changed a lot after watching the documentary Bigger stronger faster. Makes you change some of your viewpoints. I now try to get as many people to watch it as possible because I hate these narrowminded...but they are on steroids...comments

The fact that you like "Schalla" says alot about your rugby knowledge. He is a really bad center - SBW made his name ass this weekend.

You are right, Schalla (Schalk Burger) is a bad centre!! That's because he plays flank.....

Then WTF does he do at center!!! OMF! :woohoo:

I actually banked on them winning for me on SuperBru but Schalla was freakin lousy - as usual!

Tell him to get back in the ruck when you see him again - ok? Maybe he should take a shot or two of something because he is surely the dumbest rugby player out there.

I'm not sure whether I agree with steroids in sport or not.

I see the likes of Lance Armstrong dominating or Usain Bolt tearing up the competition and I naively hope they are natural and are some sort of leap forward in the genetic chain and are something to watch in almost amazement. I then see the rugby guys, baseball and nfl guys and think there's no way they can continually perform, recover, get bigger without using and the money pressures from sponsors etc I feel its needed to use steroids.

There's now even talk of some kind of genetic blood manufacturing that basically gives you "super powers" without any chance of being detected. SciFi? probably not. Manufacturers, the men behind the scenes etc will always be one step ahead of the game and the testing bodies.

Having said all that, I still like to think Usain Bolt is a supernatural athlete with DNA from the gods! Only time will tell!

In my opinion a separate class should be established for athletes on AAS with age restictions as to when you would be allowed to complete in this group. The positive side of this is more research, better and safer products being manufactured. B)
