How much sleep ?? was created by SLEON
Good day all

Just wondered what you guys think

how many hours of sleep is sufficient for one night , if you are training the next day

and what would you say is the minimum amount of sleep one should atleast get per night ?

When I train I have to get in 7 hours minimum, or I'll be yawning constantly the next day. Without gym, I can live with 6 hours..
8 hours is considered the minimum for bodybuilders, and I read somewhere that 10 hours is actually ideal...

"growth occurs during sleep.
That means if you are not getting much sleep, you are not getting
much growth. It’s that simple. However, lots of guys burn the candle
at both ends – hard core workouts during the day, then lots of
partying at night. Or simply staying up a little later to watch the
late show or movie. That may be fun but it short-changes your growth
potential.

Lack of sleep cuts in a couple of ways. First, it limits growth.
Second, it cuts into the energy stores for the next workout. Not
getting adequate sleep is very harmful to the growth potential of
the physique. Sure, you can pull it off a few times, but over time
it adds up and keeps you from maximizing growth.

Of course the answer here is simple – sleep more. Add an extra
half-hour or so whenever you can. Make an effort to carve out some
time for just sleep. Naps help, but a longer extended sleeping
period is really the best tool to support hard core training. "

iv read that 8 should be a minimum also.

I get about 9 but im lucky ima student :P

Yeah , like i said it just gets difficult sometimes with the shifts , but believe me when i have time i do sleep a lot , it maybe happens 2 to maybe 3 times per week where i can only get like 6 hours sleep , but i do nap also when i can , and when i am off one day i get 10 hours easy , maybe even 12 , just to try and make up a bit

I sleep 9 hours, if I go to bed at 12 ill get up for work at 9, I also normally include the 20 min it takes me to sleep. Most nights bed by 9 up by 6:30.. even if your sleep isn't straight 8 / 9 he nap is crucial, if you look how outlet Ronnie sleeps you will see its possible same as Jay, however they have their naps.. ahh how I miss those afternoon 'LAZY NAPS' :)

i agree nerd it is great! and i have worked a year as an apprentice in hydraulics in coal mining in my hometown in MP, so i know all to well about the the early mornings and hectic overtime schedules!

haha it was also quite sad when all the other kids and friends i had in uni went on holidays and were all partying and here i was grafting my nipples off

but i do belive it taught me something about responsibility, something that alot of kids dont have coming straight out of school and into Varsity...

This may get me flamed by some but after watching Ronnie Colemans dvd, he seems to have a pretty crap existence. He looks miserable as sin throughout the whole boring saga. I haven't watched the Cutler DVD, so am only basing my opinion on Coleman.

As for sleep - different strokes for different folks. I work well on 8 hours. There is plenty of contradictory evidence out there showing a whole multitude of things.

I of the most common things regarding sleep I've read ( maybe bro science ) is that the earlier you go to bed before midnight the greater the GH output in your deep sleep. So basically going to bed at 9 is better than going to bed at 11 regardless of if you sleep 9 hours on each of them.

I have no idea how they work this out, I'm no scientist, whether it's placebo or not I dont know but that works for me.

I follow all his videos online. He doesnt sleep(more than 4 hours) and still has meals at 2 in the morning etc. Trains around then as well. I'll see if i can find it again and post it.

I think its just all the proper GH he is using thats making him feel that way.

Optimum amount is definitely at least 8hrs a day in one stretch.
For muscle recovery, growth, release of GH etc.

Personally i need at least 7hrs or my workout the next day goes to the dogs.
On rest days I'm usually so tired I end up going to bed early.

u 'mirin?
