Hey All

Not sure how many of you go on TNation but there was a great article on there today by Jim Wendler, great powerlifter. I've attached the link at the bottom but I think the rules are pretty bang on the money and worth a read!

Hope you enjoy!

1. Your program will be based on 4 exercises: squat, bench press, deadlift and the press.

2. You will train in the weight room 2-4 days/week.

3. You will do some kind of “hard” conditioning 3 days/week. This consists of pushing the Prowler, running hills, running stadium steps or pushing a car. If it looks hard and awesome, do it. If your mom can do it, put it aside until you go through menopause.

4. You can do any kind of assistance work that you want provided that you do chin-ups/pull-ups and either barbell or dumbbell rows.

5. If you are fat and out of shape, you must do some kind of conditioning every day. If I were fat and out of shape, I’d be pushing a Prowler every day to combat the adipose.

6. You will not program jump and hop on the latest trend – your program should be flexible enough to adjust/tweak to include new ideas while maintaining the core principles and integrity of the program.

7. Diet –If you need to lose fat: eat good food, less crap and eat “right” 90% of the time. If you need to gain weight: eat more food. This is not a hard concept.

8. Your body is not different than anyone else but your attitude can be.

9. You will not be impatient; the grind is where character is made. Focus on what you have to do TODAY to make tomorrow better. This is a lifelong project.

10. Whenever you lose focus, consult this list to clear your head and get you back on track. And when in doubt, squat and run hills.

Strong thread title to content ratio

Enjoy reading some of Thibs and TC's articles on t-nation, but a lot of articles on that site are just adverts with a lot of words in them. Interesting article, not a fan of doing cardio so doubt I'd ever try this stuff out though

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

@Deadgoat - they do have some good stuff on there but you're right a lot of the time the stuff will only work if you use Biotest products. So often a lot of hype and marketing but they do have some good writers on there, and often just the pure up front attitude of the likes of Jim Wendler are great to see. Just cutting through the BS and say it as it is :)

By the look of your avatar it doesn't really look like you need to be worried about cardio too much!

Since I dialed my eating in more I don't need too worry so much about cardio but I still enjoy in a strange way sprints and prowler!

Really enjoyed Dave Tate's articles on bench pressing and squatting, if ever I need clarification on exercise form T-nation is the place I run to. Enjoy browsing through their forums and seeing what Professor X has to say, he's a bit like 00pump but can be an asshole from time to time

Lol thanks man, but my avi is like 9 months old I was at 10% then currently at a tubby 13%. That you in your avi? Very impressive detail

Dave Tate, Jim Wendler, Steve Pucinella all have great stuff - especially when it comes to technique training.

The forums are a laugh, some interesting stuff but a lot of trolling going on. They definitely don't have as much patience there as they do here, except probably BushidoBadBoy, who I've actually worked with now. Nice guy.

My clients would kill to be a tubby 13% :)

That will be me one day ;) that's actually the biggest powerhouse in Super 15 but also the biggest under performer, Pierre Spies.

Ah Spies, tough to see that GH jawline when he's facing the other way. Great athlete, shit rugby player. Hopefully Alberts will start at no. 8 in both the trinations and world cup.

lol, most of my skinny ***** friends call anyone who doesn't have visible obliques whilst sitting "morbidly obese"

Agree with you on the trolling, everyone wants to be a "T-Man", yet most of them don't even look like they lift. Bb.com is certainly the best in terms of quality trolling, the training and nutrition forums are meh

I really couldn't care what words you use, just if its a discrimination of race or homosexuality it becomes an issue
