Fibromyalgia was created by milktuds
Good morning gents,

Has anybody got any advice on/about this syndrome? Any ideas for treatments etc? There is apparently no cure? It's been a year since I have been in the gym due to this stront. Basically my major concerns are the prolonged muscle spasms, pain, fatigue etc.

I suffer from a lot of symptoms, but the others I can use supplements and meds to overcome. :P It's not easy, but I keep on keeping on. I try and stay positive.

I think if I can get my muscle spasms/pain sorted out then there is hope again. The specialist suggested to me that I get botox injections done for the muscle spasms? Now thing is the botox lasts 3 - 6 months if I remember correctly. Now if it works and I don't have the spasms anymore and after the botox wears off again will the muscles go back into spasm or will it stay that way?

Excuse the grammar and stuff, I'm tired.

If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.

Hey bro, you're right, there is no cure... and what we know about the disease is pretty much uncertain and wishy washy.

Treatment is mainly palliative care (pain control and improving patients comfort)... Dry needling and electromodalities (IFC and TENS) can help. Not much more I can tell you than that

Um, but im scared of needles...

I got myself a 2ch TENS machine and an infrared lamp. Using that along with stretching. Gonna try the Botox route and see what happens.

have you tried dry needling? Give that a go before botox, less invasive, and remember botox is a toxin. Also dry biopuncture with traumeel

Yeah, tried most things. Was at the physio from Dec till end of Feb 3 times a week. They always did a massage, dry needling, TENS and the infrared lamp and even traction with this weird machine. The pain and all the other symptoms don't bother me. I just think if I can get rid of the spasms I can maybe start working out again. Yes I read about botox. Not sure what biopuncture is. Can a physio do this? I was also on Baclofen or something like that, suppose to help with spasms, also Trepiline for the fibromyalgia. Don't use it anymore. Didn't work. Physio told me I can exercise all I want, if those muscles are in a spasm they won't grow for shit, I'll just cause more wear and tear.
