So what do you guys think?

will this really curb deaths on our road?

I just feel that taxis and busses have killed more in the past few months.

Unroadworthy vehicles is a bigger problem for me, oh, and loads of seriously incompetent drivers.

It really pisses me off to be honest, 120 is slow enough when doing long trips, honestly, but no, they will put their blue lights on and fly at 180... who it doesn't matter.. End of the day we have accidents with public transport simply because each and everyone of these guys are useless and a waste of fresh air.

If they really want to curb accidents drunk driven should be an automatic 6 month jail sentence, drivers licenses should be harder to get and women shouldn't be allowed to drive...

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

Here is a fun fact. The AA of South Africa conducted a survey of more than 7500 crashes and came up with the following."In our experience (at more than 7,500 road traffic collision investigations) the typical “speed” at which an accident happens is no higher than 80Km/h. "So the government is actually trying to cause more accidents.hahaha :P

no sense in decreasing the speedlimit if nobody is going to enforce it...

if attention is given to the smaller infringements, the lager infringements will not be so problematic...

Yes I just listend to AA on 702 now, they said there is no proof it will help and they said all it will do is bring in more money due to people becoming frustrated and driving over the speed limit.

Speed doesn't kill, bad driving does - simple.

Too many useless drivers on the road, not just the taxis and buses but in general.

I'm generalising now quite a bit but as an expat living in CT the driving here is some of the worst I have ever come across in my trips round the world. Ever!

its really simple. public transport must be 80kmh max and the law enforcement must be strict with this. also all unroad worthy taxis must be taken off the road! no questions asked. we have a police force..they must be harder on taxis! fines etc. if they catch a driver with a few fines..impound the taxi and lock the fcuker away! 120 is fine for cars!

get more buses etc instead of taxis.

The minister is claiming that if Australia and New Zealand can have a speed limit of 110km/h then we can have a limit of 100km/h. What he fails to realise is that those countries have a lower population than us

Lowering the speed limit won't make a damn difference if u still have retards filling buses and taxis to 200% capacity and then driving like crunts.

Remove all the unroadworthy crap from our roads and introduce better methods of policing and removing these vehicles from the roads.

Statistically most road deaths are pedestrians. Suppose the minister should ask the pedestrians to walk a bit slower then???? WTF!!!!

i work for an insurance firm. we processes a handful of motor claims everyday, none of which, as far as i can recall, were caused by speeding, only IDIOTS, that dont know how to reverse, how an intersection or 4way stop works, just people that cant drive! this year alone i have processed 400 motor claims, the highest speed anyone drove was 80! some, just rolling, or reversing out of a drive way and hitting a ped or passing vehicle. lowering the speed limit is going to do absolutely nothing. honestly.

lol, or they should stay off the roads.

I will take you guys a photo of some of the road workers in my area when I see them again. They actually lie sleeping on the tar in the middle of the road. No-one will believe me, so I will take a photo next time. They have a spotter that look for oncoming traffic, but that clown also fell asleep the other day, so I almost drove over the whole crowd...
