Vodacom - 20Gb data for R499 was created by admin
mybroadband.co.za/news/broadband/37667-v...gb-prepaid-data.html

So I rushed to my Vodashop just to find the guy there scratching his head and having no idea what I'm talking about. Apparently the main peanut that works there went for training today, so hopefully when he's back tomorrow he will know how to get this deal.

At the moment I use 1Gb per day, so this is going to save me allot of bokke.

This is the advanced package so you get speeds up to 7Mbit/s download I believe.

7.2mbps yet you will probably max out at 2mbps friend has vodacoms new 7.2mbps and is always complaining about connection speeds.
Im using cellc's "wooooooosh" claimed 21.7mbps which only gets about 6mbps tops. The fastest i saw it was 11mbps once, what a glorious day that was :silly:

Love the buuuuuuuuuuuuuurn!

My problem is that Vodacom is the ONLY network with data connections better than EDGE where I'm located, so I'm stuck with Vodascum...

I'm really glad for this special, because I used to buy 2.5Gb for R430 and that only lasted 4-5 days. It's a shame the special will end in Jan 2012.

I get about 4Mbits / sec on a good day and you have to take into account I'm located fairly remotely. This is through a proper router though... Microtik Routerboard 411UAHR with Sierra wireless modem installed. These little USB modems doesn't even connect over here.

I don't understand, if you are on contract do you keep the 20gb option? Or do you sign now and its only 20gb for a short period of time.

Unfortunately pump us contract users do not get the promotion, we will have to buy a prepaid card. its valid until the next calender month. Promotion ends in Jan 2012

I only use prepaid and then buy data bundles as I need them... are there any advantages for contract customers?

These shitty little USB modems are not worth signing a 2 year contract at all in my opinion, so are there any other benefits I'm not aware of?

admin just in bundle and out of bundle rates are slightly different. I wasn't aware the pre-paid data charges came in at the same price as in the in-bundle charges on XYZ package.

Or are you refering to a 'package deal' on prepaid, aka X mb for X rands?

Mmm, so the only advantage is that out of bundle rates are less on contract, but to me this doesn't matter anyway.

This is what I do... I recharge my prepaid "data" SIM with R500 and then login at vodacom.co.za and buy the 20Gb bundle and just before I run out I will recharge again, so basically there is no advantage in my case signing a contract.

I'm actually glad that prepaid data are the same rates as contract, because then there is no need for me to commit to a contract and I just buy what I need to.
