Thoughts on Steroids being Illegal

Thought this would be a interesting topic, well we all know steroids get very bad press and are only legal to use if they have been prescribed to you, what are your guys thoughts on this bearing in mind that Alcohol and Tobacco can be bought over the counter

I think its a good thing that steroids are illegal If they weren't a lot of people would just hurt themselves....

People kill themselves when they use Tobacco on a regular basis

I enjoy the fact that they are illegal, as this gives me a chance to get bigger than the rest, and also it somewhat minimizes the chances of abuse (abuse still exists tho)

Also since its illegal its tax free and if you have a decent supplier you don't pay huge amounts for the product where as if you were buying it at a pharmacy prices would be outrageous.

There will always be abuse legal or not.it will probaly never be legalised.too much stigma and lies surrounding it.they will always play the card we have to protect the children.remember steroids kill people hahaha

Ya thats really the only reason I like steroids to be illegal. I disagree with you on the price thing though If they were made legal, more production and competition will occur and prices would ultimately be lower.

That's nothing new, even when I was in school most of the kids used dianabols or test cyp. A lot of the rugby boys juice, at least those who can afford it.

Just look when you gym, if a week goes by where some kid doesn't ask me about steroids its abnormal. No decent guy will sell to children though, in this game most of the top suppliers know each other, they will quickly give a supplier that sells to children shit.

Not really bud, one would pay more because then the government would want a share of the profits (tax). The quality will just be better because the FDA would monitor production so there would be less under dosed products.

The price as it is is very competitive, the underground labs monitor each others prices and give the guys that distribute them (the suppliers) a price that they HAVE to sell them for. Naturally some guys and add a few bucks and others lower costs in the hope of getting more clients but they get kak from the UGL for that if they find out...

Edit - @AAS, I'd rather not comment on the age thing. It depends if the guy that want to use them is informed or not.

Steroids are legal, but not for recreational use. If that happened, I would guess you'd need a script from a doctor, and get it from a pharmacy. That would prevent idiots with pre-existing conditions, as well as kids, from using to a far greater extent than what is the case now.

Well technically any drug outside of schedule 1 is "legal". Even cocaine is "legal". As you said it becomes illegal when used recreationally

This forum is not about illegal drugs, so let's not derail the thread. Cocaine is used by dentists and ENT specialists in surgical procedures. But there are drugs that are totally illegal in SA, like marijuana, heroin, E, meth/amphetamine, etc.

Just so, several AAS derivatives are not commercially available any more as a result of the stigma attached to the BB scene, even though one could argue that we would benefit from many designer blends, quality guarantees, improvements and set standards. Prices would probably drop too if Adco started pumping out generics

I think it would be chaos if steroids were legalised - purely because of professional sport. It would be very hard to regulate it if athletes could obtain it OTC, and it would screw up sport in general. I think it's great to use it for recreational purposes and to better yourself though(although I haven't done so myself).

There are illegal and legal steroid. Of course, legal steroid is safer than the illegal one and also beneficial when it is taken in the right dosage. Many athletes love taking legal anabolic steroid because it gives so many benefits for them and the side-effects are tolerable.
