What to check for at doctor's visit was created by beemer
Hi,

I'm going for my first doctor's checkup next week, and intend doing the following checks, before my next cycle:

Cholesterol
Sugar Levels
Testosterone
Kidneys

What else must he check/test?

Thanks

Won't he ask why I'm checking all these? What do I say?

How do they check kidney's and liver count?

OMG. How do they check test level - alone in a room with a porn magazine and a jar? :)

No he won't, just say it's a yearly checkup. You are going to have to draw blood, it will then get sent to a lab. Few days later he will have your results

Liver, Kidneys, Heart, and lipids are all what you want to get checked out. Full blood work will usually cover all these bases. I don't really check testostoerone unless I don't feel like I recovered well... I know I'm going to go on again anyways right? :)
But optional hormones are things like test, estrogen, thyroid, etc... Depending what you take.

If you have a good relationship with your Doc tell him/her your on steroids and want to stay healthy. If not go with the yearly checkup thing and hope it's not a he holding the cup :silly:

It's always female doctors who ask me right of the bat if I'm on steroids or not. Weird. Guys just don't bring it up, or sometime ask if I go to gym ... Nah, I was born like this...
I had one guy who used my shirt (from behind my head) to cover my stretch marks while he assessed me. Um... I got those before steroids buddy.

But finding a good Doctor who wont judge you and is willing to help you check up on yourself is the way to go. They won't know much about steroid abuse, and some of them may lecture you first, but if you look good you can tell them why you are doing it.

Alternatively I have gone to Lancet directly before and asked for full blood work, then went to pick up the results a few weeks later.

It would be great to find a doctor who understands steroid usage. I've already lied to mine when I had an abscass (told him its from a vit b injection).

My doctor trains at the same gym as me so I'm sure he knows what happens behind the scenes.

Can anyone recommend a doctor in Cape Town who understands and is ok with steroid usage?

Got some results back. Total Cholesterol looked very good but explained that the good fats shows 0.8 and should be at 1 (or something like that). Not sure if my previous cycle had anything to do with this.
