My 3.5 year old daughter is one hell of a fussy eater, but what she does eat is PROTEIN. All she ever wants is chicken, meat and eggs...
She asks for chicken in her lunchbox (and sometimes she gets it).
She just demolished 50g of chicken fillet in a few seconds (she doesnt even weigh 20kg)
When i have a plate of eggs she ALWAYS asks if we can share... And on at least one occasion i'll tell her she can have some (off the 6 or 7 eggs there), and will come back and she's eaten 2 or 3 of them
At a braai all she eats is steak... Medium rare. Its quite a picture to see this petite little blonde girl munching a handful of bloody steak, with blood running down her chin
For dinner she loves chicken and brown rice. Or scrambled eggs... Drink of choice is milk, anytime.
How much protein is too much for her?
She spends a lot of time with me, so obviously learns from my eating habits. And her mom (my ex) is prepping for the Novice bikini division.

Um, but im scared of needles...

haha looks like BB runs in the family. Sorry I do not know how much, but I remember my aunt gave her child 30g of protein a day (she was 4 though). They were eating bit unhealthy and went to go see a nutrionist to help what to eat and not. I had the discussion in Dec, so I can be wrong.

This is what i read so check it out.Healthy 1-to-3-year-old children need 0.55 grams of protein per pound of body weight per day, which means the average 29-pound toddler needs 16 grams of protein each day.

Ok, well she weighs 16kg (skinny little thing), so thats 35.5 pounds... so 20g of protein. She easily makes that in a day. Cant seem to get her to eat much in the way of carbs tho... Rice crispies for breakfast, brown bread sandwiches for lunch. Wont eat potato :/. Rice with her dinner some nights.
And veg? No chance... Cant get anything green by her... Or orange :/ Eats a little fruit and dried fruit.

Dinner tonight is a protein feast of chicken drumstick and white meat, an egg, and some cheese

Yeah, i can see her joining the gm as soon as she can... She already loves going with me or her mom, and playing in the kids room. Tell you what, she has the genetics for it, lean and mean.

Also quite the little tomboy and sportswomen... Does ballet, and asked this year to start soccer :O I tried to offer her pottery and whatever else, but soccer is what she wanted.
Also swims like a champ, better than me i think. Been going to swimming lessons since 3 months old, and yesterday swam a full length (25m) unaided without stopping. Then swam another 2 more...
Already told me she wants to swim midmar mile :O crazy child

But this age, hell, i tell you, you cant argue with them. She'll put up an argument with all sorts of reasons and excuses... Real chick

I see her almost everyday... My ex and I share custody of her 50/50, we are still good friends and on good terms which makes things a hell of a lot easier.
I generally have her for a day or two, then drop her at school in the morning and her mom fetches her... and vice versa.
Very hands on dad, i make all the decisions with regards schooling, extra murals etc. Her mom respects me and respects that. Fortunately, because i wouldnt be ale to live not having her as such a huge part of my life

Yeah, you lucky man! I cant bear the thought of not havin my 2yr old with me, have to come home to her everyday or else....I wont function, at all! I train at home, so she sits on the bed, watches, quitely, then sometimes does the same movements i do. Then for every sip of water i have, i gotta give her some. Then when i have my whey protein after, i have to share with her some! My 4 yr old watches a jay cutler dvd and in that dvd there is this ou training with jay that says, constantly, "no pain" so she sometimes shouts out, "no pain, no pain uncle cutler" i cant imagine not coming home to my gals...It would kill me inside! And should i split with thier mum, i know sure as hell she wont be as nice as your ex...She would do everything she could to make it difficult for me! She knows thats my weakness, thats my life!

Well then that makes it easy, get her into sport, if she does it professionally she won't have to work for a living, :cheer: like the rest of us
I've already decided my kids are either doing sport, or acting/singing. 8-5 only makes the CEO's rich.

Replied by Thunderbeast on topic My 3 year old thinks she's on a bodybuilding diet
I wouldn't worry about her eating too much protein...
I don't think there easily exists people who ate more meat and biltong than my brother and I (as kids)...

There were days when we ate more than 2kg of biltong and droewors...each...
and we turned out just fine... always 1.5 time larger and stronger than the other kids were... haha

No really.. dont worry... rather keep her away from sweet and too much carbs.
