Long time... Short story long summary to follow

- went for general bloodwork late 2024, kak was kak. I felt pain, told the Dr I felt like I was used up at 40.
- S-URATE high (0.65 mmol/L)
- S-CHOLESTEROL 6.7
- S-TRIGLYCERIDE 5.28
- NON-HDL-CHOL 6
- CHOL:HDL RATIO 9.6
- S-LDL CHOLESTEROL (meas) 3.5
- S-GAMMA GT 141
- S-ALT 76
- S-AST 51
That Dr was like "ag not too bad take this statin and you've got fatty liver from 'die lekker lewe'". I wasn't eating excessively and I'm not a rich food/organ meat fan. I tried to get more info but he is on the old side and just was like "you know just eat healthy".

I changed medical plans and had to find a new Dr. so I took my bloods to that Dr and I was like "My previous Dr was pretty unconcerned... but those numbers concern me". He changed meds a bit, added liver support and I went for more blood tests after a few months (2025 Aug). Also went for sonar of liver and confirmed fat deposits but no tumours etc.
- S-URATE 0.4
- S-CHOLESTEROL 4.4
- S-TRIGLYCERIDE 5.19
- NON-HDL-CHOL 3.7
- CHOL:HDL RATIO 6.3
- S-LDL CHOLESTEROL (meas) 1.6
- S-GAMMA GT 109
- S-ALT 64
- S-AST 40
He made a couple of more adjustments. I trained a bit over Nov Dec 2025 and then began going 2/3 times a week in Feb. Being more consistent. Tracking my calories.

Went for more bloods 2026 March.
- S-URATE 0.47
- S-CHOLESTEROL 3.4
- S-TRIGLYCERIDE 1.9
- NON-HDL-CHOL 2.6
- CHOL:HDL RATIO 4.3
- S-LDL CHOLESTEROL (meas) 1.9
- S-GAMMA GT 56
- S-ALT 108
- S-AST 74

My profile has improved dramatically... the raids S-ALT and S-AST is apparently from picking up weight training again. I hit weights for roughly an hour, followed by 15min incline treadmill walk. My energy throughout the day has improved now that I've been back at gym. I'm able to add more sets/reps and go heavier. My watch reports up to 1000kcal burnt during the weight training and walking (I know it isn't super accurate...).

They chucked me on an "InBody" scan last week... my visceral fat is 20, my BF is 40% according to it. I'm 1.71m tall so I'm obese at 103kg.

At my latest visit to check BP (it was fine) the Dr said I should google Retatrutide which combined with my lifestyle changes would help with the visceral fat as well as help with my fatty liver.

You need to change a few things
Diet , exercise etc. . Maybe later TRT , but first you need to drop a lot of weight.
For that Retatrutide is the best by far.
Fuctional MD.

Been watching and controlling what I eat, hitting around 120g of protein a day (yes yes... it "should" be higher but my liver is currently under strain and the Dr also agrees do not go too high on protein currently).

Have been lifting hard (for me) a couple of days a week. Finishing off with an incline walk on the treadmill.

I've been reading and watching a lot of stuff on Reta and one of the things it does is help with non alcoholic fatty liver disease (which I do I have) which would apparently help a lot of other kak get in line.

Fatty liver is caused by sugars and carbs. Lower Insulin by exercise and low carb diet with protein and the fat in your liver will melt away. Reta is the best way .
