Cutting a cycle after three weeks - help please

I am on Oupa's Crossfit cycle for the past 3 weeks. I have a bad history with steroids and shin splints. After three weeks of intense training, it started flaring up again. I want to stop before I end up with fractures again.

The plan is to stop my cycle for now and see if everything return to normal and maybe start again at some time once legs are used to all the extensive running pounding.

3 Weeks
200mg Cyp pw
200mg Eq pw
30mg Various ed

Only started noticing the shins Saturday, yesterday it was almost unbearable.

I have the following for a PCT
HCG
Clomid
Kessar
Aromasin

What would be the best way to construct a PCT for this situation?

Last test shot was Monday.

Hi OPT.

The Eq is going to take the longest to clear. Look in PCT article for Eq clearance time. Run Clomid 50mg ed 14 days Nolvadex 20mg ed 30days HCG 250 iu eod if you have Aromasin run it 20mg end with the Nolvadex and HCG

The deposits you have injected are going to release and do their thing regardless. So normal waiting time and full PCT.

I would not stop just yet. First give it two weeks rest and continue with the cycle. If it is gone by then then continue as normal, otherwise stop the cycle then.

I aggree with Pyro. Give the Test and Var some time to do their thing. Maybe take off from weights and running rather do rowing and cycling

Thanks Pyro and Rooi Bul. Was thinking the same. I think I overdid the running after recovering from surgery and legs couldn't adapt so quickly to the sudden pounding of the running. Calves took some strain.

As you suggest, I am going to take a week off from running and focus on cross-training (Bike, rowing, arctraining etc.) Will slowly return to running end next week. In the mean time, I continue with my cycle as planned and then take it from there.

I also got myself Calmag from Biogen for some extra calcium support and also some anti-inflammatories just to keep it from getting inflammation. Hopefully in a week or two everything will return to normal and I can keep going with my cycle as I was looking forward to it for quite some time now.

Var is probaby aggravating the shin splints. I woul drop that and continue the other stuff, but up the EQ to a dose that would do something. 200mg/week is pointless.

What's your guy's take on water retention on a Cardio specific cycle like this one?

- Should all the cardio and sweating be sufficient to keep water retention in tact?
- Should on look to use something to limit water retention as I obviously don't need that extra waste mass?
- Should one look at water retention in a positive way as part of keeping joints moist or so?

Normally when doing bulking, it doesn't really bother me, but I don't really know what to make of water retention in this case?

Just a thought, without detracting from the excellent advice you've received here, it seems you may be prone to stress fractures, which are a classic over-use injury, and likely to recur unless you change training habits. Can I suggest you read some of Tim Noakes' articles on stress fractures. I had several stress fractures when I did triathlon - including a pelvic stress fracture, and only understood the causes when I read "Lore of Running". The latest studies confirm that sudden increases in training mileage, plus hard footwear and training surfaces are key factors in this injury
