Hi All

Could testosterone be overdosed?

I had a TRT script for Depo testosterone and was using 1.5ml a week (100mg/ml).

Due to the extreme water retention I was suffering, I decided to switch to Test Prop.

Unfortunately I couldn't obtain Test Prop from a pharmacy so I decided to use PGW Test prop as most people rave about it on this website.

I inject 0.25ml daily, for a total of 1.75ml a week. Had no water retention and felt a million times better vs cyp. The only negative for me is the pain felt a day or two afterwards from the injection.

My bloodwork revealed free test of >1315, ref range is 180-536 pmol/l. (almost 3 times above high end!)

How is it possible that my free test is so high, considering the small dose? Could Test Prop be overdosed? i.e. having more than 100mg/ml?

On another note, my free T3 came in at 3.8, ref range is 3.1-6.8. My t4 is however on the higher end. I cannot convince my Dr to prescribe me T3, (I do feel a bit lethargic). I train daily, and have low body fat, but also have an extremely strict diet.

I want to do a low dose of T3 (20-25) to get T3 in upper range. My research indicates that people feel much better having their T3 taken from the low end to the high normal end. UG labs often have inappropriate dosages due to them not having the equipment to control dosage. Is it too risky to use an UG lab T3 for an extended period of time? If you had choices between the following suppliers- Ciccone, Oraltech, HD labs, Keifei labs, Blackseries labs, Nova Labs- Which T3 would you recommend?

Thanks for the input.

Sound about right to me my blood test came out at over 1400 on 1 ml test cyp 250 mg and I think 1.75 ml test prop is equivalent to test cyp as it is way more effient.

Thanks for the reply Triton. I have read of many men that get prescribed 0.5-1ml of 200 MG (in the states) to get test in high normal range but my testosterone easily doubles the high range at that kind of dose.

My bloodwork for all other important factors e.g. Estrogen, shbg, cholesterol etc was perfect and I feel great.

Does anyone think it's risky to have testosterone higher than normal range indefinitely.

If I run bloodwork on a regular basis with everything else being normal and don't experience any sides, makes me wonder what the real risks are. To add to this I'm lean, train at least 1.5hrs a day, and live a healthy lifestyle.

Having these testosterone levels just enables me to get shit done, not only from a training perspective, but a cognitive one as well esp at work.

Any responses to my initial thyroid question would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hey splinter.

About your t3 levels, if your t3 is on the low end and your t4 is on the high end, you could have issues converting t4 to t3.

Alot of t4 gets converted to t3 in the gut, and in the liver. So the first suggestion could be to add selenium to your supplement list which you would need 200mcg in there. You can either take the supplement or you can take in 4-5 brazil nuts daily. Also upping your intake of probiotics wpuld help the conversation of t4 to t3. Kefir yoghurt or adding in sauerkraut to your diet do wonders for this.

I would maybe even suggest taking 1000mg of ltyrosine to your supp stack to help with healthy thyroid metabolism.

On your bloods, how long after you took your last shot of depo test did you get bloods done? And how long after your shot of prop did you get bloods done too? Also i would suggest a low dose of aromasin or even arimadex when doing trt to keep estrogen at bay. Alot of trt docs in the states prescribe 0.25mg adex 2x a week with their trt protocols.

Just those few changes alone can stop thr lethargic feeling you are getting.

Thanks for the reply Empire.

I have tried eating Sauerkraut and cottage cheese daily, including zinc and kelp supplementation.I found my free T3 was at 4.1 vs 3.8 so only 0.3 improvement Vs when I am not as strict. I have not yet tried selenium and ltyrosine so might give that a go.

Test shots are performed nightly ED at 8pm, with bloods taken at 8am. My estrogen came in at 50, ref range 0-160 so I don't think that estrogen is the culprit and am sure it is low T3. Overall I feel good, some days I just feel quite a bit of lethargy.

I have ordered Nova labs T3 and will run 20mcg daily, get bloods done, and report back on free t3 and my overall wellbeing and energy.

Your estrogen will be much lower on a test prop cycle vs a test cyp cycle, for sure, thats always the case. And you are dosing test p daily will give you must more stable blood concentration which is great.

Cottage cheese doesnt have the live cultures that kefir does, as much as i wish that was the case.

You can try the t3 for the lethargy for sure, and glad to see you have tried the natural route first for increasing t3 before just jumping on t3.

I would still maybe ride the t3 option out for the next 2 -3 weeks and carry on with the natural option first. The fsct that you got a 0.3 increase in t3 is great, but the problem still comes in that you are not converting the t4 that is high to t3. Try and get that conversion right first. You got nothing to loose by trying it out before jumping on the t3.

Also how many days a week are you trianing? How many working sets per session? Are you on a low calorie diet?
