How do I check a website is legit

Hi guys,

I understand that I am not allowed to post sources etc.

My issue is,how do I go about in a private manner checking if a “certain website” that I have discovered sells legit gear with the correct labelling etc. I have finally found a source that sells PGW of which I have always wanted but could never find a reliable source.I really don’t want to spend my hard earned cash that I have saved up for six months on dud gear........Your help and advice in this matter is much appreciated.
