Protein shakes and kids.... was created by SPUNKYDELUXE
Howzit guys

My daughter is just over 3 years old at the moment. She sees me drinking my protein shakes Morning and evening and also wants to drink them with me...not just a sip...she wants to have her own shake in her own shake bottle.

So what I do is I take like one scoop of Evox 5XL muscle meal with 250ml of full cream milk and give her that to drink.

My question is whether this is bad for her healthm or whether there might be something in the shake that might be bad for her????

www.evox.co.za/product-item.aspx?prid=20

The link refers to the Evox 5XL muscle meals ingredients....

Maybe DJ could help here????

I personally, logically, think that it is not bad, and you as parent have to exercise strict control over it.

But yes, children need lots of proteins and this is 'n good way for them to get it in. I would say though that I would prefer to give whey. My sons also always wants the last 2 "slukkies" when I take my shakes.

She has about 3 "shakes" a day and 1 consists of 100% whey protein....I also think it could just do her good by having them...also all the vitamins etc in the shakes and the calcium in milk....

She also eats well so its not like replacing meals or anything like that...

My kids are 12 and 16. Theyve been having Evox Synergy Whey for a couple of years now.
With all the sport they need it. breakfast, lunch, before swim training in the evening.

I think it is good nutrition, however, tell her that morning and before bed is her time.

maybe cut it down to half-scoop for her just to be on the safe side.

Too much of anything is bad, but a small shake every now and then will do no harm. Obviously large amounts of protein cause kidney damage and in kids this can easily occur. 3 shakes per day (depending on the size) could become a problem in the long run.

Protein should still be within the allocated limit for their weight.
so in my kids case they are 1/2 servings....
