ON hydro whey was created by Christian
Howzit bud's

I was watching a seminar of kai greene and George farrah, and there was a question that was asked regarding post workout meal, and George asked a few guys what they do after training and everyone replied they take carbs and protein and he said that its wrong because one you take carbs after training youve waisted your training becaue what one is looking for is to rise GH levels after training and by taking carbs pwo wil not do that.

He suggests that taking ON hydo whey directly after training wil rise natural GH levels to its best and about an hour after that you have your carb and protein meal.

I know that it is very expensive for a 1.5 kg of hydro whey but has any of you used this product before and if so what is your take on it?

Keep well guys.

Thanks Mike for clearing that up, but do you think the hydro whey is worth all that money for what it delivers?

I think its 30g protein per serving 8.8 g branched chain aminos and 5. Something essential fatty acids. But they recon that hydro whey is more faster absorbing then normal whey as the peptides are hydrolyzed

I met some guy who absolutely raved about it this weekend and I'm usually not one to judge but he pissed me off so much that I couldn't help but think that if it was truly as good as he said it was, he wouldn't be so damn skinny.....

I have heard good things about optimum nutrition in general and people love the gold standard whey so there is no real reason to believe that the hydro whey isn't great too

Howzit Dobby

thanx for the reply bro, im in a catch 22 between ssn 100% whey protein and the hydro whey the price on the hydro whey is on special for R870 I think and normally at dischem its about more the a grand, im at a point in my life where I missed around a year back and now im taking things serious I prefer solid foods and getting my nutrients from that but ultimately im looking for something as I walk out the gym to give the most quality protein.

what would you recommend I do boet?

Theoretically when you look at the logic behind the science hydrolysed whey is obviously better than normal whey isolate. Hydrolysed just means the whey protein has already been broken down into its amino acids or amino peptide chains for faster absorption. After your workout you want protein to get to your muscles ASAP so this is awesome right.

Sounds great, but in the real world what difference does that make to gains vs a good other whey protein product? Very little. Over a few months you probably wouldn't notice the difference. Definitely not worth the premium price you pay for ON whey. ON whey is a brilliant product but you are better off taking the same money and spending it on a cheaper good whey isolate/concentrate product and some BCAA, and you'll still have some money left over for at least a KG of chicken breasts.

Supplement companies are brilliant at twisting scientific data to make it sound like their product is going to give you some special edge. It's all bullshit.

Muscleaddict thank you very much for that response I appreciate it, and what you say makes 100% sense. I wil rather get something cheaper and then buy some more food, I know this thread is for ON, but do you think the ssn 100% whey is a good buy for R509 for a 2kg I think

once again thank you

One thing i really love about ON hydro whey is that its extremely light on the stomach. Helps a lot when you have a killer work out and a protein shake is the last thing you can even think of having, this goes down really well. Although yes, it is really overpriced. I've also used SSN 100% whey and its also a brilliant product, good price as well.

SSN is a good brand but there is no comparison between SSN and ON. Optimum nutrition has really set the standard in terms of whey protein quality! Perhaps get the gold standard whey instead of the hydro whey. Its cheaper and its still awesome quality.

I personally use cellucor COR performance whey! it is my job to promote them as they sponsor me but I really and truly love their products! They have proven to me time after time that they are one of the industry leaders in terms of quality. Their whey is great quality and tastes awesome. It usually goes for about R700 for 2kgs

I've been wanting to reply to this post the whole day but was busy. IN my very humble opinion, if you're not a top performing athlete at the top of your game then you have no business wasting the money by feeding the supplement marketing machine. If you have the bucks go for it but i believe the net effect is probably negligible.

Take your normal whey and train harder.

If you're looking for value for money then nutritech is probably your best bet. Good product and not too expensive
