Now I don't know how true this is since I haven't had a chance to go to another pharmacy yet, but...

I was just at the Dischem on Lynnwood Road in Pretoria because I wanted to replenish my stocks of B12 & B-complex amps/vials (I give myself these injections regularly and have gotten them for years from this same pharmacy). The pharmacist refused to give it to me because she said I need a script. I laughed and went to another pharmacist; same story. After chatting to three of them I asked to speak to the manager and he confirmed it.

Apparently some council that regulates such things has now made it so that all injectable vitamins require a script and it came into effect last week.

I thought I should let everyone here know.

haha you can buy gear legally for personal use in the UK, and here we are in SA needing scripts for b12... Stone age.

Yes i asked my pharmacist and he confirmed I need a script for injectible B12. Its crazy all the rules the pharmacists have to deal with.

A month ago I was travelling and couldn't even get a replacement box of contact lenses because they couldn't get hold of my optometrist to check my prescription. Crazy. I mean what do they think I'm going to do with the contacts?

Today I will do what I never thought possible!

I use a smaller pharmacy so I think it has filtered down already.

My pharmacist said they were all informed of the new regulations. Yet another ridiculous rule to follow in my humble opinion

Good afternoon all

Jip we used to buy these out from a medical home and nursing supplier. But the new legislation are changing the schedule from S1 to S3.

So we stocked up goooood on the S1s ;)

BSSA has got plenty of Bco and B12 and with the shipping it still works out cheaper than a script

I bought B12 and Bco at a pharmacy in Vredendal on Saturday - no problem. The Worcester pharmacies also sell it without a script..
