Rhino, if you do get your hands on some of those test results. Please do share them!!! Will be very interesting to see if they are available and how true the labels are!

Rhino wrote: I see that the Nutritech whey now has soy protien in now though..! Eish.

Nope it doesn't. I just checked the label of Nutritech's new formula. The only protein powder in it is whey. It has soy lecithin which is used as an emulsifier. Even Optimum Nutrition gold standard has soy lecithin in it. Check every other whey product, muscletech, ssn, usn whatever - they all have soy lecithin.

Rhino I stay well away from USN products, however have a good friend in the industry (doesn't work for them) who made mention that they have changed manufacturer and also cleaning their products up. No hard facts on this but who know maybe it's worth a try?

@rhino Just to explain quick, there is not any soy protein in the new Premium Pure Whey formula. It contains an emulsifier namely “Soy Lecithin”. This is what makes the whey “instantized”, i.e. enables it to mix instantly in water without clumping. I have taken the following from an online forum to help explain the use of Soy Lecithin, which is used in all instintized whey proteins:
Whey Protein contains a very small amount of soy lecithin to help it dissolve more easily and completely in foods and beverages. After membrane filtration, spray drying is utilized to turn the highly concentrated solution of protein into an instantized, ready to mix powder for a broad array of commercial applications. The instantizing process typically involves the use of soy lecithin (a natural component found in a number of foods) in trace amounts that is lightly coated onto the whey particles during the spray drying process to enable the protein to readily disperse in water.
Soy lecithin is not the same as soy protein. Putting this into perspective, the isoflavone content of soy lecithin is about 10 mg per 100 grams. Compare that to soy protein isolate which can contain upwards of 100 mg per 100 grams. Even if the amount of lecithin per serving of protein was 1 gram, the isoflavone content you would be consuming is less than a milligram which will have zero clinical significance.

Ye I figured that out thanks Bud, my Bad. I did on the other hand realize once I went to have a look at the new USN that claims to be 79% protein that that does have Soy protein In.! So USN is still shit and nothing's changed.

Rhino are you referring to the new Whey ultra 100? Just had a look at it and I'm not seeing soya protein on the label.

It's a 2.6 kg/100 serving.

They have 3 pure whey products now.

Whey isolate
Whey protein + lower quality for lower market.
And whey ultra 100 which is the new premium. I stand to be corrected but I think they using Glanbia whey in it. They've started selling in the USA, and I'm certain if you don't make label claims there somebody is just waiting to sue you.

And also you can request certificate of analysis of the products now

Ye like I said the ultra 100 looks like a decent product but at nearly R1000 I won't touch it. You may as well get Nutritech for 60% of the price or even pure Whey from BSSA for far cheaper.
No thanks USN.
