Evox - Synergy Whey Protein was created by Hudlim031
Hey Guys,

New to the forum so bear with me if I'm re-asking.

What do you guys think about Evox - synergy whey? Is it good?

There has been a lot of bad publicity regarding Evox, USN and even Biogen. (which I believe is made by USN)

Other Protein I'm using:

Muscle Works - Protein x5
Supplement SA - Slow release protein

@Hudlim031 used it before and was a little disappointed. Prefer to just stick to normal whey.

Its big drawing point is the casein and whey combo but seeing as you are already using a casein i dont really see the use in it just stick to regular whey bud not worth paying that extra bucks on it

I bought 2 x synergy 2kg while on special at Dischem.
I usually open both as i like to change flavours throughout the day.
Then some strange shit started happening to me.
Used it for a week and my anxiety & depression skyrocketed.
I have taken many different brands of whey but this evox synergy kicked my ass.
I will say i am prone to anxiety and depression but i keep a food journal so i went back and
checked everything i consumed.I cut out creatine on one day,no diff...i cut out l-glut the next day and no diff...my final option was to stop the synergy.
The following day i switched to nutritech and over the course of two days my anxiety subsided and depression eased.Im thankfully a lot happier now.
Reading the label i can only see green tea extract on there that could be the extract.
I scoured the web and indeed there is evidence of green tea extract causing anxiety & depression.
So needless to say i wont be taking synergy again!

I used synergy whey for years. I used to love that stuff but they changed the ingredients to cut down on their costs and it's not the quality product it used to be in my opinion. It's supposed to be Evox's flagship protein product but they went and substituted some of the whey in it for soy protein so it now has more soy in it than whey isolate and casein.

My wife bought a tub of the choc mint flavour last recently but she can't stand how it tastes now so she gave it to me. Choc mint used to be her favourite. I tried to blend it with oats like I do with my other whey in the morning, but the consistency is disgustingly thick and you can taste the soy which I don't like. You could definitely do worse that synergy whey but it is overpriced for what you get.

This is not good news for me at all. I ordered the Synergy from takealot.com It has not yet arrived. I am prone to anxiety and depression. Will just have to see how it goes. I have been using Muscle Works protein x5. Interestingly, the other day in Dischem I saw a sticker on the whey packet (protein x5) that it may contain 1,3-dimethylamylamine. Crazy to have that in a whey shake.

Maybe if I use some 5HTP it'll ease out the synergy. Could become pricey though.
